Re: Rotterdam, or anywhere, anywhere but home.
My recollection of coming off the ferry at Europoort is that breakfast options are thin on the ground. Restaurant de Punt at Botlek does nice egg and chips and such. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Sometimes one or two other cycle tourers. The beauty of the mini cruise is bed, breakfast and evening me...

Rotterdam, or anywhere, anywhere but home.
Pre Covid I did a mini cruise to Zeebrugge. Rode from Saddleworth to Hull, one night on the ship a six hour ride around the Southern Netherlands and back to the ferry. Highly recommended, Once the Covid cloud has lifted I am planning to recreate the experience, again ride to Hull but this time a 'Mi...

Thanks guys. Perhaps I should have said where it was.
Colon is the Spanish name for Christopher Columbus, but it also makes me smile. So does Trump, but I guess he makes me cry.

Re: Yorkshire's reet grand - We love Yorkshire
No need for a peace wall between Lancashire and Yorkshire  But were there not some boundary changes that moved places from L to Y or Y to L? Is there a sudden change in speech/dialect at the boundary? Not that I know of. I am a Yorkshire Man, bred in Saddleworth. It was and remains in the Wes...

Re: Touring in Croatia
It is 10 + years since I did similar. We flew to Dubrovnik and headed North through the islands of Sipan, Korcula and finally onto Split. We then headed down the coast and back to Dubrovnik. Very different group, all lads from my Cycling Club. Observations that would help. It is really hot, this cut...

Mudguard Sizing
I have snapped my rear mudguard on my Genesis TDF 20 commuter / touring bike Looking at them online I can't work out the size I need. They tyres are 35mm.....but I measure the rear guard as being 600 mm, obviously this accounts for the curve. So would I need a 28"/700c X 35mm or x 600? I can't ...

Breskins Ferry
I have one day in Belgium / Netherlands. A ride to Hull and over night on the ferry to Zeebrugge and a 140 k trip round Zeeland via the Breskins cycling ferry. A few questions. What time to bikes disembark the Hull Zeebrugge ferry. What does the weather have to be like to stop the Breskins cycling f...

Thanks for the tips

Difficulty whilst tightening pedal into crank
Swaped pedals tonight and the drive side crank pedal hasn't gone in smooth. It is OK till about the last two turns. Can you reface the thread or is it a sign from the crankset god?
Next question will be how?
Cheers

Re: Touring in Holland
I have a pet hate on forums when a question is asked but someone replies about something slightly different but that is what I am going to do, sorry. I have had 2 family holidays on Zeeland ( a large Island in the Southern Netherlands) I would restrict myself to here. It has everything we think of a...

Rear Dynamo
My Genesis TDF has a B&M Secula Plus tail light...which doesn't work. The headlight does, so I assume the dynamo is fine. I have taken out the connections and reconnected them but still nothing. Any ideas???
