Re: Advice following Achilles Tendon Rupture

Thanks all, not given any exercises on the 25th April, just the boot fitted and only got physio appt today and thats not till the 23rd May! Had to fight for the daily injections too because I left the decision for 3 days so I passed some deadline! Wasnt keen on injecting myself because I only lost sight in one eye in Feb and still knock things over !
Had three lots of hospital beds delivered too😲
( Its Aintree Hospital btw)
Cheers

Advice following Achilles Tendon Rupture

Did mine in about a month ago and been wearing the Vacoped boot for a week. Next hospital
appt in 3 weeks and no advice about exercises that might help the recovery.
Been doing upper body stuff with those resistance bands to help crutches use but scared to go below the waist, an advice would be very welcome or am I too soon?

Upper spine and base of neck pain

Any advice very welcome. It's been getting much worse over the last couple of years and therapy has not helped. Now raising bars above saddle height for a little relief much to the amusement of the club!

Re: Cycling and deafness

Just to elaborate, syringing causes significant infection which a can travel to the brain if not remedied by antibiotics.

Re: Cycling and deafness

Deafness and tinnitus in both ears for many years here. Syringing no longer recommended by the NHS , try microsuction, its free from some hospitals but there may be a waiting list. About 35 quid an ear privately.

Re: Hitch Bracket size for Carry Freedom trailer

Thanks all again, one last clarification.
Mick, am I right in thinking that all worked well without that damned oversize looking unserated washer that doesn't look like it would fit anywhere between the drop out and the quick release. I stuck a couple of spring washers in the mix and tightened the q/r , no amount of leverage moved the hitch bracket so I think all will be well with help from everyones advice. Good idea re swapping the qr round, its fiddly otherwise.

Not sure if this provides a picture!
Its a Large Y trailer with a lollypop econnection with the hitch bracket.
I hope the pic indicates that the face of the 10 mm hitch bracket bears against the 9mm dropout hole. As a consequence when slack there is about 3mm of vertical movement. However when tightened via the quick release its immoveable. I try again for a pic if you cant open it.
Thanks to all

Re: Hitch Bracket size for Carry Freedom trailer

Old and confused! Thanks chaps. I was unaware of the washer but even taking account of the perspective of the picture, I fail to see where or how it fits.
Using my very limited logic I would have thought it needs to have a 10mm external diameter interference fit to insert into the 10 mm drop out remaining space and a hole a fraction over 3mm to take the quick release? That to stop the whole hitch to flop about if it comes loose. Btw the hitch I have is 10mm and I used the trailer a few times 4 years ago without the washer to take heavy stuff to the tip ( no car ! ) , Maybe
I was lucky.. Am I talking rubbish?

Hitch Bracket size for Carry Freedom trailer

I have just discovered that the hitch bracket hole comes in two sizes, 9 or 10 ? and 14mm. When I bought the trailer I was not made aware of the options, am I right im presuming that the smaller size is for quick release axles. I wish I'd known ...
