Re: eBike Conversions - Go on, show us yours!

Graham. OK its Planet X Monte sl frameset [by Fuji], imo i think its Fuji, just in last 2 weeks i have built maybe 7/8 Fuji out of their factory boxes and the PX is wrapped in exactly same way, same tapes, insulation, same wrap in exactly same positions on the frame so i guess its fair assumption tha...

1/2 inch pedal thread

A first for me... on a Modern E bike, ladys frame, building it out a box split new, putting it together, a Ridgeback, Shimano mid steps motor, lifted the pedals ..my last bit of kit to attach... apart from the battery which was on charge, lifted a brush to grease the pedal threads, double take at the...

Re: ReTyre Modular tyres and riese and muller charger

Hi and welcome, as someone who has had a year and a few months on a couple of self build Bafangs on road orientated drop barred machines I know that I wouldn't hazard the torque that is available in a strong mid motored E bike on a couple of zipped on tyre covers.. one thing I learned from my experi...

Re: new bike issue ..gears jumping

Thx Bruce you understand that its all cost, my man does want me spending 2/3 hours on fettling what he knows is a new machine, so I will spend some more time checking the chain, and the cassette, tbh chain looks wide for a 9 sp , so thanks again for your excellent pointers.. will report later.. will

Re: Help. Frame broken.

Depending on the loading he is carrying on that rack... to get home, i would fashion a steel U section bracket, very neatly tight and well fitted to the curves drill the brase on out or use a longer existant type and bolt this clip around the brase on using holes drilled in it both ends.. BUT if you...

Re: Yamaha launch the Wabash gravel e-bike

Neither do I, perhaps us old school guys have it backwards, everything today has to look cool, whatever the hell that really means in a real world, maybe thats why a plain jane Rotrax Shirley was a much better riding machine than the vaunted Baines, Bates or Curly Hetchins, those which would have bee...

Re: Yamaha launch the Wabash gravel e-bike

When people who don't ride E machines or even if they have tried one and now feel experienced enough after a couple of miles to wax lyrical about the weight and visual aspects of said machine, I wonder at their comments.. Having built 7 midmotored bikes now and having first got the bug back in 2013,...
