Post Brachytherapy Cycling
I have seen a thread on here with brachytherapy in the title but it seams to be a broader discussion about cancer treatments. What I would like to ask is has anyone here got first hand experience of getting back on the bike after brachytherapy treatment for prostate cancer and how did it go? I had the procedure yesterday.

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
I now have plenty of heal clearance. I thought the position of the front top hook was the limiting factor as that stoped the pannier from moving back and forward on the rack. Using the bottom hook to do this instead meant I could move the pannier further back and away from my feet.

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
Thank you. That has fixed it. I don’t know why I was thinking the top hook had to stop the pannier from moving about but I was. Using the bottom hook gives me loads more room for adjustment. Thank you to everyone for their advice.PH wrote: ↑20 Jan 2024, 1:25pmThat looks loads better, though it looks like it needs levelling.
You can slide the panniers a good way back by adjusting the hooks, I might have got that wrong in my first postIt made sense when I was writing it...
You don't need the front hook on the top to stop the pannier sliding forward, the bottom hook ought to be doing that.

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
I have been thinking about making a bracket but I was also thinking this might be a common problem and there would be a commercial available adapter or a rack designed for this sort of situation. My metalworking is a bit basic. What would you use? 2.5mm stainless?

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
I have moved the rack as far down and back as it goes. I am still getting a hefty contact.

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
The resulting position is too close to the peddles. I would like something around another 3 to 5 cm to get the luggage out of the way.

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
I have used up all the adjustment in the rack to get it level. I could let it lean backwards but I’m not sure that would help.

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
The brake is a Shimano 105 flat mount hydraulic calliper. It’s a good way in front of the rack mounting point and doesn’t interfere in any way

Re: Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
Yes, good point. I have a pair of Ortlieb 40L roller classic panniers. I would like to be able to attach items to the top of the rack with the panniers mounted.

Rear Rack for Spa Elan TI Mk2
I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a 54 cm titanium Spa Elan MK2 and size 10 feet. When I mount the rack I use on my Aubisque on the Elan my heals hit the paniers (Ortlieb) even with them adjusted as far back as they will go. I think this is because the mounting point for the rack on the elan is on the seat stay in front of the axel. on the Aubisque the mounting point is behind the rear axel aft of the dropout. has anyone got the same Elan frame and has found a rack that gives good heal clearance or can suggest a rack that would work? I would

Rebellion Way
HI
I am thinking of doing the Rebellion Way around Norfolk in the spring. I'm looking at accommodation on the route and wondering if anyone has done this recently and has any suggestions for B and Bs or hotels. Just looking for modest but comfortable accommodation with a positive attitude to cyclists and somewhere to park our bikes at night. I'm looking at Kings Lyn, Sheringham, Wells Next the Sea and Norwich. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
