Re: Podium Girls

Meic, "if anybody disagrees they just keep shouting "sexist, sexist" "the people who shout sexist in order to silence critics" Good grief. It was a simple question. WHO are they? Who are The People? "Next thing you know, just being male will disqualify you from the righ...

Re: Podium Girls

JayD: This was the post that made me make that comment. This made me giggle. Coming from where it comes from. Basically the problem is people like Freddie here who are so far into their own world view they cannot understand that their actions/viewpoints as the very root of the problem. You are neve...

Re: Podium Girls

Meic,

"the people who shout sexist in order to silence critics"

But, who are they, this collection of people? Has anyone attempted to stifle you so far? Has it worked, or are "they" a figment of your imagination; a convenient way to disparage another point of view?

I just wondered if you see it as a societal issue with your use of "they", and asked you for some examples. The evidence so far amounts to "someone being wrong on the internet".

Re: Podium Girls

Coincidently, here's Victoria Pendleton in today's Guardian commenting on the corrosive culture in British Cycling. She has been outspoken in her support for Jess Varnish who was advised to "go off and have a baby". link https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/may/26/victoria-pendleton-olym...

Re: Podium Girls

I was watching some Giro D'italia earlier this week, when the camera cut to a row of podium girls lined up for the camera. I then heard a somewhat embarrassed Carlton Kirby say, "Ah, looks like we have a return to the 1980's. How about we get on with some cycling?"

Re: Podium Girls

You have done two things consistently, be ill mannered and wilfully misrepresent my arguments. Neither are valid forms of debate. This made me giggle. Coming from where it comes from. Re: Steve abraham attempt

I'm in awe of what he has achieved on the challenging roads of the U.K. I don't think we've seen the last attempt though, by him or someone else. Hopefully it will take place within the U.K or somewhere equally dark,rain-sodden and cold with cramped roads and uncivil motorists.

Any small knock will remove the top colour coat, I am retouching the frame as necessary. For example see below, this was spotted a couple of months ago, not one but SIX chips on the inside of the chain stay. No rough roads or curbs were encountered on the ride and it looks like the chain flipped up...

Re: Sabotage and hatred: what have people got against cyclis

I think several unpleasant human traits come together to explain the cycle haters. We have a need to divide people into us and them, in-group and out-group, sunni and sufi, protestant and catholic, aryan and jew, black and european etc.etc.etc. This often serves a political or economic end as well....

Quite O.T, so apologies but if I want a quick brew I take a flask instead. I really don't like the "cafe legs" effect.

The Victorinox Bitwrench is on offer on Blacks website - £10. Going by the positive reviews on this thread I've ordered one to collect from my local store.

Re: Any chronic whiplash sufferers here?

Have you had any Osteopathic treatment? I found it beneficial after an mtb crash. My injury was similar to whiplash and it took about a year to get fully recovered.
