Re: Tram tracks
The only problem I've had with tram tracks are up Liverpool Road, Eccles (Salford, Gtr Manc) when I had to move out across the road to take the tracks at an angle and a bus decided I was in his path and gave me a toot, nevermind that I gave the proper hand signals. Needless to say I gave a few extra...

Re: HELP! Rear Derailleur
The chain is quite new too, maybe a few weeks. I'll have the old cassette put back on and see if that solves it, it's due a new derailleur anyway, so next couple of weeks I'll be changing that too. Anyone know if I can get away with an 8 speed derailleur on a 7 speed set up? Just can't seem to find ...

Re: HELP! Rear Derailleur
Just adjusted the B screw and it didn't have much effect. Maybe it's the wrong cassette, luckily I still have the old one, it wasn't even that worn, just when I bought a new wheel there was a cassette on it and the guy couldn't be bothered taking it off. I'll have to take it to my local bike shop an...

HELP! Rear Derailleur
I'm having trouble with my rear derailleur. I've bought a new rear wheel and cassette for my old Giant OCR4, I've sorted the gearing, indexing, limiter screws, got it perfectly lined up but there seems to be banging/ grinding going on... almost as if the top cog of the derailleur is banging on the c...

Manchester - Paris
Hi, I'm considering Manchester - Paris over 5 days (& 5 days back) in a weeks time. I was just wondering if anyone could give me advice from personal experience of a similar route or winter touring advice. I'll be on a race bike with only a rear pannier rack. I'll be staying in a mix of hostels,...

Re: Will I ever ride again?
I got rid of my car and now I use my fixie to commute the 3 miles to work and to get to friends houses. I've not been out on my road bike since the 1st of this month. I just don't seem to be able to find the time these days.

Re: Do you wear a helmet?
I never wear one. This will have to change though when I move to Australia in 3 weeks, since it's law to wear one there.

Re: Should cyclist's cheer up?
I find everyone on here to be very much miserable jobsworths.
Been out for a good 55 mile today and let onto tons of people, didn't see a miserable one out there.
Are you down south? cos they're all a bunch of ...... down there.

Re: Legalities of Pedestrian Areas?
Round my area they've just started painting bike lanes onto the pavements. If a copper tried to stop me on my bike I'd tell the to get.... well you get the idea. I know I'm faster than any of them plods on their mountain bikes.
