Re: Caught on Google Streetview with my bike!
i used to be visible on google earth in the aerial view, laying on the roof sunbathing the image was from years ago when we still had summers in the uk, they updated since then and now i'm gone, fame is indeed fleeting If you download the google earth application, you can pick which pictures you wa...

Re: The proposals, benefits, drawbacks etc.
I read both articles in Cycle last night. There was nothing in the "Pro" article that persuaded me that this was a good idea. If anything it turned me more towards the no camp. I think that the aims of the Trust are very different from what I think the aims of the Club should be. I wouldn'...

Re: Rohloff - How to go faster?
I had a ride on one of Hubber's bikes at the York Rally. I didn't find it sluggish for the sort of bike that it was (a fairly heavy frame with fat tyres) and it was nice to ride. I'm not sure what hub gear that one had in it, an 8 speed one I think. I'd certainly consider a hub gear for an all weath...

Several of our machines use Shimano medium drop dual pivots - the one which fits a 28C tyre plus mudguards. It behaves very well, maybe slightly less brute grunt than my long arm cantis but not much, and feedback through the levers is far better. I'm in N Derbys too so the comparison's valid, I've ...

Michelin A1 tyres
I'm unsure of the exact name of these tyres, as all that's marked on the outside is "A1". It's a 700/25. Bought from Halfords as an emergency replacement. Personally I'd never buy another one. The side wall is paper thin, it crumples in a way I've never seen in another tyre before. It seem...

Re: nobody's perfect
Yeah but if you check out the 2008 Galaxy on the Dawes website (http://www.dawescycles.com/dawes/galaxy-1.htm) they say it comes with STI shifters, but the picture clearly has bar-end shifters. Moreover, if you look at any other bicycle retailers website they have all copied the same error from Daw...

Ah but hulver I never said I was a veggie, just trying to keep off red meats and dairy fats due to high cholesterol. As I've said I do not understand the habit of taking a healthy option; tuna, chicken, egg and smothering it in mayo or other sauces that have hidden fats, sugars and salts. No you di...
