Cycling after Covid
Hello everyone
I am writing an article for the Cycling UK website and possibly further afield, about the role of cycling in recovery from Covid, especially long Covid. I'm particularly interested in hearing from women who have had Covid and returned to cycling: did cycling help your recovery or did you have to wait until you had completely recovered before you got back on the bike? Did riding with a group help you recover in some way, even if it was just to enjoy the social aspect of cycling again? All experiences welcome.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Jennifer

Call for queries on cycling in post-Brexit Europe
Cycling UK has been contacted by a number of members, asking about what to expect as UK citizens cycling in a post-Brexit EU. To answer this, an article has been commissioned for a forthcoming edition of Cycle magazine where we're going to look at the common themes and concerns of our members and the wider cycling community.
While we can't promise to answer every question you might have, if you've any queries or concerns do please post them below and we'll look to investigate and answer in the near future. If you're also happy to be contacted for any follow up questions too, please do say in your comment as well.
Thank you!

Cycling UK statement on Covid19
As the national cycling charity, our aim is to support the UK’s population to cycle. This remains true during this period of Covid-19 affecting the UK.
Above all, the safety and welfare of Cycling UK’s staff, volunteers, participants at our rides and events, beneficiaries of our cycling programmes and the general public is always our main priority.
We are closely monitoring the situation and taking advice from the Government, the NHS and partners. Currently (as of Tuesday 17 March) we are advising the cancellation of all group rides and activities following the latest Government guidance and is urging everyone to follow best practice to minimise risk.
Cycling UK has two live documents on our website which we will update as new information and advice is made available.
Our overall statement for group cycling
https://www.cyclinguk.org/news/what-does-covid-19-coronavirus-outbreak-mean-cycling
Advice on how to continue cycling at the moment in the form of a Q&A
https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/coronavirus-qa-it-safe-cycle
If you do have any particular questions that you feel are not answered in the above documents. Email publicity@cyclinguk.org and we will do our best to answer and update. Alternatively leave a comment below, and we'll aim to respond as soon as we can.
Please do bear with us as we update these pages and answer your questions - we will always aim to do as swiftly and as accurately as possible.
Stay safe everyone.

Comfort saddle repairs
Cycling UK has been contacted by one of our older members with limited internet access, who is hoping the community might be able to help them in fixing - or perhaps locating - the only saddle which they've found to work for them.
It's called the Comfort Saddle and they were made in Dereham, Norfolk. The company is long gone unfortunately, but if you recognise it and know someone or somewhere he could get new springs, please do get in touch with the publicity team - publicity@cyclinguk.org
Thanks everyone!

Re: Recommend me some books.
Hi everyone -
Before Christmas, I put together an article for the Cycling UK website here: https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/give- ... -christmas about books to give for presents for Christmas.
They were all ones that had been reviewed for Cycling Magazine in the past year. Because it was so popular, and due to our being sent more books by members to look at, we thought it'd be a good idea to put together another books article for the New Year.
I was wondering if any of you would be happy for me to use your suggestions here for the article?
We were interested in getting books cyclists love, not just ones that have been previously reviewed.
Let me know - and thanks!
Natalie

Nowt about cycling other than a few blogs.

LEJOG and Back
Grand Tour of Scotland, England and Wales
JOGLE on a Raleigh Chopper.
Will that do?
Hey Mick,
Sounds to me like you need to write that autobiography stat! Thanks for replying. I can't include your booklets because thy're not to do with cycling, and your blogs can't be bought as a gift. Ta though, and please do get writing!

Hi - who is Mick F? This sounds like it could be something I would like to include in the article. Why would it be a fascinating read for you?
Thanks,

Old joke: I never knew secateurs were part of a cyclists' toolkit until I moved to Norfolk.
http://shopping.rspb.org.uk/folding-poc ... teurs.html - not heavy duty, but they fold away neatly. No snagging.
