One of my pics from last night.
The moon did prove to be a problem, but with a clear sky there were a few dozen good ones to be seen

You'll need a derailleur that is braze on mount not a clamp one.

Re: Best Bike Ride 2016
Mine was a few days tour around the wonderful Wiltshire countryside. The mid June weather was pretty atrocious and involved a cat and mouse chase to avoid the heavy rain showers - I was forced to wait out the heaviest at various pubs

Re: Weinmann High Pressure Dimpled Rims
If you mean the Weinmann concave rims like these then the only finish I've seen them in is polished.
I'd avoid using wire wool and stick to a soft cloth and Autosol to get the best finish.

Re: British Eagle touristique
My brother still rides his and loves it.
I'd ditto the above comments.
His bike had bad fork judder under braking but that was cured with an uphanger.
A 531st framed bike in excellent condition with Carradice panniers for £80, in my opinion that's a bargain!

Worry not, it's a wear indicator. Whilst it's still visible your rims are good

Re: Alhonga brake adjustment
Welcome to the forum.
If you squeeze the lever then look inside you'll see either an Allen key bolt or a standard screwdriver slotted bolt. Turning that will tighten the lever to the bars.
Sometimes if you have a quick release lever on the brake calliper opening it makes access easier.
