Re: sks bluemels 29 x 65mm

thanks for the reply Gattonero, i use the bike in all situations, road, trail, off road, i have found some (rear) full guards that will do the job , and using a tag a long it keeps the rear a little bit cleaner, not too bothered about the front as i can use a guard you have kindly posted, many thanks

Re: Invalid scooter !!

We noticed two wheeled scooters in Spain on a recent trip, i dont think it will be too long before they are over here, and its quite a sight seeing them getting manouvered around, and there not a side by side arrangement, its the tandem type, just keep your distance !

Re: How often should I expect a puncture

It makes me gasp when I see cyclists taking punctures to bike shops. The point at which I despair is when I offer to teach people how to do them themselves (in the course of charging a fiver to fix one) I and they look at me as if I'm mad. I was in the lbs looking for a replacement saddle as mine b...

Re: Renaming Christmas.

On a serious note,I've no problems with people celibrating anything. I would however have a problem when that celibration involves the whole front of someone's modest bungalow being transformed into a flashing, multicoloured tacky invasion of my privacy with Santa Claus' sleigh being dragged across ...

Re: Cyclists are lazy

Cyclists are often seen as lazy, unhappy and social misfits, a study has found. too right, when i've been on a long ride im cream crackered, a little miserable and tired depending and don't feel like going out. Regular bike users think of themselves as adventurous and rebellious. If sat nav was buil...

Re: tandem or tag-along suitability for a blind 12-year-old

Hope this all goes well for you, i sold my tandem recently but now im thinking it was a big mistake, my son loved it one day, hated it the next, but the frame was too small for me, even though i got all the extensions you could think of. Hence im looking for another tandem , Make sure if fits both o...

Re: Arriva Bus drivers = Morons, do I report it to Police

Yep get that letter sent !! I had a run in with an arriva driver whilst i was in town, so i swiftly got along to the bus station where the bus was going, and straight to the supers office, i explained what the driver had done, and he took me across the station like a bullied school kid " show m...

Re: Weight loss via cycling

Well I started cycling again back in March for the first time since I was a kid and so far have lost just over 3 stone in 3 months! I cycle (road commute) each day between 10 - 30 miles, I dont have any fancy kit, bought my bike from Halfords and avoid any faddy diets. I just eat fairly sensible &a...

Re: Car slapping...

I came to a stop at a roundabout to give way, it was a T junction before, a car from behind came to the side of me and brushed my right foot with the bumper and wheel as i was sat with my right foot on the pedal waiting to push off, I jumped off the bike placed the cycle in front of the car, and tap...

Re: Acknowledgements(or lack thereof)

I find that the bikers in helmets, full gear proper seasoned cyclists say "alright" to me, but it's the commuters that don't. No helmets type folks. I don't wear a helmet or wear full gear, nor am i a commuter, but i use my bike everyday for everday needs, shopping, dentist, transportation...
