Re: 10sp Road Cassette Customisation

Have you ever considered why you need a 50/11 or 12. If they were removed, then the gaps in the middle of the cassette could be reduced. I used to run a 45/42/28 chainset with a two tooth jump on the cassette throughout. It effectively gave a one tooth jump over the cassette range, and a bail out cl...

Printed lugs etc

Is a printed lug or rear end going to be a cast metal and so inherently weaker than forged material?

Re: Crank length

Isn't crank length going to be a function of thigh length and not total leg length? Within the parameters of normality!!!

Does anyone know if any professional rider uses different length cranks on each side?

I would guess, different thigh length, the more horizontal component.

Re: Crank length

Mike Sales wrote Perhaps it is because my legs are about 20 mm. different in length and one hip makes my thigh move out as it moves up that I find the idea that 1 mm. makes a perceptible difference incredible. 170 mm. cranks are used happily by riders whose legs must vary by much more in length. I a...

Re: *Reduced*32T chainrings / Red chain

Re: Gloves: Lobster vs Trigger

Use trigger gloves when really cold, not very often these days. Brilliant, but 1950's army ones. Mix of leather canvas back and sheepskin.
Bought another pair from an army surplus store, so might be the place to look. They are for warmth not looks.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Bring on proportional representation, then perhaps people would learn to work together for the good of the country.

I talked about a people's government, which he claims he has, not the clown in charge.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

If Johnson wants a people's government, perhaps he should listen to the majority that didn't vote for his government.

Re: sweating

You used to be able to get vests with a nylon inner face and cotton outer face( tchibo) or polypropylene inner with a wool outer face (helly hansen) The sweat moved to the outer layer, so giving a reasonable feeling of dryness. Better than wearing two vests of those materials. Personally for below 4...
