Re: Where to next???
Well i have toured in europe and nz and i thought nz was awsome, that is only the south island. The roads do get a bit narrow and you have to watch for trucks but really on a bike you run the risk every time you go for a ride. What do you do sit around all day and watch tv or take the risk and get out there and have a look? the second option is for me, south island of nz is beautifull unreal for cycling.

Re: Great ocean road Australia??
Cheers guys for your replys, very much appreciated.I am actually a Aussie but you guys have comfirmed my suspicions, the GOR could be a little overated.I have been tossing up between GOR and Tassie for months starting to lean towards Tassie a little,im booking fares in a month or so.All the info i have searched says its the greatest drive etc out there,so i thought it must be a good ride.I live in north qld(the other end of AUS)so its completly different to what i am used to.Would love to swap it for a ride over there, done Provence a few years ago and nothing in this country comes even close including NZ,but its all different i suppose better then a days work i say!!!!

cycling and family holidays
Hi there a while ago i posted a thread about not being able to go cycle touring this year due to family commitments etc.Well we set of on our family holiday on the way down to gold coast in australia(3 day drive) with the bike on the back and just done the early morning rides and totally loved it,back by 9am then full on doing the family thing. Not the same as touring all day which i love but a real nice compromise, and enjoyed it a real lot.Allready planning a touring trip for next year and a family holiday with the bike so its great to combine the 2 its hard living in remote australia but a bit of planning and all is well.
So do a lot of you seasonal tourers with familys etc usually have 2 holidays per year 1 touring/1 family holiday?I still love the freedom of touring all day but love the family holidays as well so for me its looks like 2 lots of 2 weeks of each type of holiday(keeps everyone happy!!)
