Just call it the Festive500 (which is exactly what R*pha used to call it) - then do it for fun (remember that?!?). See also: https://blog.wiggle.co.uk/how-conquer-f ... easy-steps

I think lots of us have done/attempted it without even touching Strava :)
Then how do you record it/keep check on it if you're not on Strava?

Re: Suspicious bicycle sale on Facebook Marketplace

Facebook market place is rife with scammers. Never pay a deposit to reserve anything. I keep reporting the scammers to market place but they take no action!

Re: European warm weather destination road cycling

As Mallorca is an island the weather can be very ify before end of April/May.
Costa Blanca (Benidorm, Albir, Altea) has better settled weather. Cheap flights, good hotels and excellent traffic free roads. Tui and Jet 2 are the go to holiday companies

Re: Best way to get a 1:1 ratio

I've had the same problem . I was looking to buy the new Canyon Endurace Di2 12 speed, but it only comes with a 52/36 chain set which is much too high for me even with a 34 T cassette. I had thought of replacing the chain set with a 50/34 ( Canyon wont budge on their spec). The problem is will the Di2 recognise the change in gear ratios and as well the chain set supplied has power meter built in which I would loose if I changed the set up!

Re: Insurance for touring

Sports Cover Direct have just quoted me £144 for an annual policy covering Europe up to 30 days for touring and club holidays. I think I'll go with that. thanks for your help

Thank you I'll check it out. Never thought about going with only my EHIC but it may just have to do!

Insurance for touring

Can anyone help me or point me to a relevant thread
I have just discovered that my travel insurance does not cover me for touring or cycling holidays with the club.
I am aged 74 and have a 10 day trip touring Portugal in September and a weeks cycling holiday with the club in Majorca in October.
I have checked a few companies some exclude touring and, (thinking of next year only admit up to the age of 75)
Can anyone recommend a company that will cover me for cycling and touring in Europe for a reasonable premium?

Re: York Rally 2023: 23-25 June

Yes an excellent weekend. My first time there. The rides were through some beautiful country side well thought out and led by local groups. Weather was very kind, beer a bit iffy but only a short ride to Wetherspoon.

Re: Campsite Recommendations, Loire valley

i can thoroughly recommend Camping L' Isle Verte Montsoreau. Site has great facilities excellent location and there's some very good cycling.
Not far away and equally as good is La Citadelle in Loches

400 Watts FTP nearly puts you in the realm of a Cat 1/ pro rider. To hold 400 Watts for an hour.... Chapeau!

Re: Winter Training Spain

+ 1 For Benidorm. Easy to get to. Good cheap accommodation and excellent winter climate. (Remco is out there riding at the moment.) You can easily find a group to ride with or just do your own thing.. Once you get off the coastal N332 the roads are empty.
