Re: New to commuting by bike

Chapeau! I'm glad you're enjoying it and spreading the good news! After a stupidly short commute in my last job I now have a decent 10-mile e/w commute and did my first RTW on Oct 2nd. Like you, I keep an eye on the weather but don't mind getting wet on the way home so much. When Mrs. Spinners has n...

Overall a good plan. Keep it on ice for five years.

That album and the follow-up Nobody's Hero was on my play list a few weeks ago. Happy Days.

Re: FSA Mega Exo and FSA Omega Chainset

My new road bike has come with this combo (52/36 chainrings). I'm torn between giving them a go or swapping them for Shimano 105 (5800).

Anyone happily using FSA Mega Exo and FSA Omega Chainset? The non-drive side crank actually appeals to me as it's self-extracting using an 8mm Allen key.

As someone who got this spectacularly wrong...

Measure twice, cut once.

Re: Single sex/gender schools

I went to a mixed infant/junior school and then to a single-sex comprehensive school before my family moved to an area with only mixed schools so I then attended a mixed comprehensive. Each to their own but I absolutely hated the single-sex comp and loved the mixed comp.

Re: I might go back to an aluminium frame (from carbon)

Bang on trend (well, within this thread anyway) I've just bought a Cannondale CAAD Optimo (Tiagra spec') reduced from £900 to £535 at Evans 'Black Friday'. I've often lusted after a Cannondale since Cippo' rode a CAAD 3 and whilst the Optimo isn't a CAAD 12 or CAAD 13 it scores highly on my 'bang fo...

Re: ** The General Election Thread **

I think Corbyns association with terrorists over the years should bar him from being PM. Inviting convicted IRA bombers to the commons 2 weeks after the Brighton Bombing was disgraceful. DVXVcktXkAAkb5Z.jpg large.jpg Agreed. His support of the IRA goes right back to the start of 'the troubles' and ...

Personal view this but I'm liking aluminium more and more recently as most aluminium frames do not require press fit BB's.

My leftie/rightie bias is as expected but I'm not too sure what to make of the other axis.

Fair play to her. That's ridiculously early to suffer from endometriosis and to win all those titles whilst enduring all that pain and discomfort shows a real fighting spirit. Mrs. Spinners went through something similar (fibroids) during her menopause and we were lucky in that my employer provided ...
