Re: Things that make you disproportionately happy.

I just love those vice handles.
That is what I call attention to detail. :)

Re: Schwalbe marathon plus tyres - traction?

I can only suggest that they may be a bit "slick" or "greasy" as they are new. We've cycled probably 20,000 miles on ours and have never experienced that problem. Is the cycle track newly laid tarmac, that could be causing the problem? I'm sure once they settle in they'll be fine...

So, possibly a private bridge.... with public access.
Unless we get shot, we'll let you know.

Re: River Usk, nr. Trallong, Brecon

Thanks folks.

A friend of ours has also indicated that it is shown as "Other routes with public access" on the OS 1:25,00 and online maps.
We'll therefore chance it and if possible, I'll get my normally "glowing" other half to perspire a bit.

River Usk, nr. Trallong, Brecon

Does anyone know if it's possible to cross the River Usk bridge at SN 964-291 just west of Trallong, between Brecon & Sennybridge, please? There's a minor road shown on the map but either side of the bridge there appears to be "Private" signs shown on Streetview. It'd make a nice short...

Re: Spade connectors for SON dynohub

I was sorting some stuff out t'other day and came across some spade terminals. I've got two bags of 4.8mm terminals with eight in each bag and two bags of 2.8mm terminals with six in each bag. If anyone wants them I'd post them off if the recipient would like to pop a couple of quid in their local c...

Re: Worst High Street retailer? W H Smith?

My views are pretty much the same as Paulatic's above. WHS used to be my favourite shop and I bought all my mags, papers, photo albums from them. They also had lovely staff that would always chat to me. Nowadays I find it tatty and depressing. There are so many mags crammed onto the shelves that the...

Re: Sanctions?

We had an old chap at work who was, shall we say, slightly eccentric. One day someone said he was mad, to which he replied that he was the only person there who had a certificate to prove he wasn't. :) And I love (and feel it most appropriate) the way you call that chap on here Cudgel

Re: Mountain fire in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Sorry but of topic question. Anyone got a good family friendly campsite recommendation near snowdonia but also near a good beach? I've camped at one nearer Porthmadog than the black sands one but we're looking for another site, perhaps nearer snowdonia. Is there somewhere near Barmouth? How far fro...

Re: Mountain fire in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

I must confess the Great Orme isn't on my cycling "to do" list, as I tend to stick to 300+ metre passes. fausto. But it is a fantastic but short ride around it. Pretty unique. It has fantastic vistas and the geology is interesting. Not much traffic off season. And one way. Recommend it if...
