Re: Ant and Dec ....best comedy duo - really?

As always, each to their time, place and context There is absolutely no "Greatest" or "Best" What about "Derek and Clive"... try broadcasting half of their stuff today? It wasn't broadcast able then, and with the changed sensitivities would be scandalous these days What...

... he didnt pass a test did he have a license even? (My emphasis) Where does the assertion I've enlarged come from? Many thousands of drivers have not Between 1939 and 1946, (and during teh Suez crisis in 1956) the driving test was suspended ... following the reintroduction there was an amnesty wa...

Re: Duke In Rollover

Please do not paste fake news unchecked: NCC discussed the A149, as you can see on the agenda at http://norfolkcc.cmis.uk.com/norfolkcc/Meetings/tabid/128/ctl/ViewMeetingPublic/mid/496/Meeting/1446/Committee/18/Default.aspx under item 13, or the various statements by the council in the news this mo...

Re: Duke In Rollover

Hi all, He may not actually have insurance, nor might he need any! Of course he will have a license, but he probably won't have had to undertake a driving test. His pilots license may have lapsed? Er Indoors will be giving him an earfull, DoS! On a serious note he will suffer just like many folk wh...

Re: Duke In Rollover

Anyone who thinks the Duke of Edinburgh might be prosecuted knows nothing about how the UK Establishment works. IT is all entirely conjecture , but it would appear that the quoted details would apply to ANYONE, not just the Duke of Edinburgh, so it would appear to be a far more level playing field ...

Re: Duke In Rollover

It's not a rat-run. The A149 is the busy main coast road and that B road is the main road off it serving the private parts of the royal estate. Rat-runners use Leziate Drove, Station Road and Mill Road to avoid those busy main roads... making those less pleasant to cycle on in summer, but fortunate...

Re: Duke In Rollover

I believe just one member of the immediate royal family has been convicted of a criminal offence - that was Princess Anne, who pleaded guilty to an offence under the Dangerous Dogs Act. Have there been any others? Of course, if there's a Careless Driving charge, as seems possible, that would not ac...

Re: Duke In Rollover

If the prince is thought to be liable, he could face prosecution for driving without due care and attention. The lawyer Nick Freeman, known as Mr Loophole, who has represented celebrities prosecuted over alleged traffic offences, said he believed the prince could have a good defence if he blamed be...

Re: Duke In Rollover

Of course if one wanted to be really pedantic, one could point out that Phillip probably has more close scrutiny of his driving by the Police than any other driver in the Country. He is often accompanied by Police officers when out driving. Unless of course someone wants to make the allegation that ...

Re: Duke In Rollover

It is a well known rat run and dangerous road with a number of fatalities and crashes. It's not a rat-run. Re: Duke In Rollover

Why does discussions about safety relating to older people driving descend into a thread about criticising younger people driving? Put simply this thread is about a famous, elderly driver who may or may not be driving beyond when he is safe to be driving. It moves to talking about how to determine ...

Re: If there is a multi impact helmet?

I know helmets have came on leaps and bounds Really? I thought the helmet test they are built to hadn't changed in years. I thought helmet design was mostly fashion, maybe better ventilation and comfort, but I've never seen any maker claiming their helmet was any safer than any other helmet. In fac...

Re: Duke In Rollover

Regarding the most at-risk group of drivers: my personal preference would be for the minimum driving age to be increased to 25 . But I know I'd be "driving against the sun" on that front! :| That would pose awkward problems. My own kids are both in the 18-25 group, both studying, and both...
