Re: Costco ebike

I don’t know which e bikes kwackers has been riding if he can “ignore most hills”

I have to change down gears and increase power with hills on a Bosch active line plus assisted bike. I can assure everyone I can’t ignore hills of any nature!

Re: What milage do you get with a Bosch Drive?

I have a Raleigh Motus Grand Tour, 2018 model, 400 Watt battery and I’d expect a 10% reduction in range due to the current age of the battery. I am 200lbs/91Kg. The bike has done 2500 miles now. 30 - 50 mile rides in Cheshire, which undulates, are indicating a range of 75 miles in a mix of eco and t...

Re: Costco ebike

The title of the Costco ad provides the answer to the number of gears!

It clearly says it is a single speed bike, it has no gears at all. It’s OK if you live in a flat place with zero hills!

Re: Raleigh motus 400 watt battery

In reply to Bazang My Raleigh Motus Grand Tour, hub gear version, bought 18 months ago, is a fantastic ebike now it is sorted but when collected from the dealer, new, in December 2018 it was a disaster and for the first few months I did nothing but adjust and modify it: On the 4th or 5th outing the ...

Re: Raleigh motus 400 watt battery

I've been out today in the leafy lanes of Cheshire. An undulating ride, no big hills. I currently weigh 14 stone. I went from my Home in Poynton to Hale barns via the airport link road, Bowdon, Dunham, Lymm, High Legh, Pickmere, Knutsford, Ollerton, Alderley Edge then back to Poynton; a total of 48 ...

Re: Choice between 2 eBikes for commuting

The Carrera Crossroad is as unsuited to commuting as a bicycle is to a fish. No means,of carrying luggage and no mudguards for starters.......

Re: Raleigh motus 400 watt battery

This is the bit that confused me and I suspect you have misunderstood " When I finished that ride I topped up the battery to full again and the display said 93 miles range. Before I set off on my next ride I reset the display and again it changed to 66 miles" So, it says 66 miles range. I ...

Re: Raleigh motus 400 watt battery

I've got a Raleigh Motus Grand tour with the 400Watt battery (2019 model year bike). When fully charged it used to show a range based on what I presume was the previous ride. Usually that was somewhere between 60 & 90 miles in eco. Of late, that appears to have changed and it invariably displays...

Re: Winter depression

I'd lost both my parents by the age of 22. I was OK for a couple of years and then developed severe depression and anxiety that I couldn't shake off. I took a job in Saudi Arabia when I was 29 in 1982, which had a massively positive effect due to a combination of a huge tax free income providing sec...

Re: Bosch active line based bike suitable for touring?

John, I've had two Raleighs previously, A 10 gear record sports and about 30years ago I bought a Raleigh Granada 10gear tourer and it was a gem. I converted it to indexed about 10 years ago then sold it, still looking almost new, when I bought a Dawes Galaxy. Other than the indexing of the gears all...

Re: Bosch active line based bike suitable for touring?

I have a Raleigh Motus Grand Tour bought new in December 2018 (2019 model year) and currently it has done 1500 miles. It has an Active line plus motor, 8 speed Nexus Hub gear and I weigh circa 210 lbs (15 stone). I can get 75-80 in eco and 45-50 in tour with my 400 watt battery, riding in various la...
