Re: Tyres - light soft and supple...

The tyre price on Compass is not too bad, the shipping price kills it though.

Re: Tyres - light soft and supple...

Can't find anyone in the UK stocking these at the moment, but apparently a very good tyre. I'll be getting some for my new project.

Re: Winter camping gear & photos.

Thanks to you both. Andrew, great blog. Very informative. Some nice kit choices there. I bought a Honey Stove http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk/product397.asp A little heavy, but once packed up, will disappear into a pannier/bag. I've yet to test it. Would like to hear from others and create a bit o...

Re: Winter camping gear & photos.

I was going to go for the 800. But for general use I think it may be a bit overkill.
Where did you get your mat from, if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Winter camping gear & photos.

I'd like to at least try an overnighter before the end of winter as the latest I've ever camped out is the end of October. I think that my kit will be able to cope but my biggest worry is around getting a bit bored with the long evenings. The kit I'm planning to use is: Tent :Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT B...

Winter camping gear & photos.

I'm interested in doing some overnighters and weekend trips in the winter months. I'm researching kit to buy and places to visit. I'd be interested to see what gear people take and where they go on such jaunts. Lots of photos and lists of stuff appreciated. A basic list consisting of- Tent Sleeping ...

Re: Camping light - what to take???

The Honey stove looks excellent, and I'll definitely be buying one. I've just got one (it arrived in the post today!). It was the flat packing that really appealed to me, as I often find space more at a premium than weight, particularly when camping from a saddlebag. Also the integration with a tra...

Re: Camping light - what to take???

Great topic. Something I'd like to try when I've built up my new bike. The Honey stove looks excellent, and I'll definitely be buying one. There is an interview with author of the article, mentioned in the original post, here; http://thebikeshow.net/page/2/ Scroll down to 22nd of September edition. ...

Re: UK boxy bag manufacturers

We have a 531ST tourer, (mine) a pair of 725 fast tourers belonging to my wife and daughter, an 853 road bike which is my sons and then there's "The Wolf". It looks like a clubman fast tourer/audax, with narrow mudguards and a triple chainset, but it weighs next to nothing and g...
