The only way to settle it would be for you both to have a race!

Re: iPhone apps/Garmin/Maps?

One word of warning. Whichever method you have, make sure you have a plan B! I used my Garmin Edge 705. I'd been using it for about a year prior and had never had a problem. Then about 5 days into our Jogle I turned it on to find that all of my routes had been wiped! I think I may have left it charg...

Such sad news. Such a shame that an event with such great intentions ends this way. Best wishes to everyone that knew him!

Sounds like there's nothing more motivating than a cause like that.

Sorry to hear your loss but best wishes for your cycle and charity fund raising!

Re: j o groats to l/end

Plenty of time to build up the miles then... biggest challenge will be mental rather than physical... having and maintaining teh commitment to do the ride will be the biggest test I reckon.

Re: j o groats to l/end

There's tons of detailed information on many of the threads here so you've come to the right place. However as a good starting point, get the CTC route maps for Lejog / Jogle... they'll give you 3 differnet routes depending on your requirements and are a good starting point. Otherwise, decide how lo...

I'm also doing Jogle this year and its definitely not thw 'wrong' way!!!

For me, the word 'Jogle' sounds much more fun than 'Lejog' (which sounds too french for my liking)!!!

Re: Midges!

I would heavily recommend Avon's Skin So Soft. You can get it from most chemists / boots & petrol stations in affected areas. None of the general insect repellants work well on midges but Avon definitely does and least it does for mel and has the added benefit fo leaving your skin ever so soft!!...

Re: The midge forecast.

I can recommend Skin So Soft. For me it works really well and has the added benefit fo leaving your skin ever so soft!!!

I'd also recommend travelling with someone who is suseptible to bites as they always attract them and they leave you alone... works well for me but my wife isn't too happy with it!

Re: Some advice needed

Some very 'questionable' advice and support for the OP on this forum which is suprising and disappointing. All I can say is It takes all sorts and just because you are going about things in a different way to the majority doesn't mean to say it can't be done so good luck to you. As you pointed out, ...

Re: Numb Bits

I often have the same problem and am also training for my Jogle in September. I know exactly what you mean by the 'pins & needles'... very weird and a bit worrying. The saddle you were referring to ... is it the Lido saddle like this one? http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/src/froogle/product-Rido-Rido-...

Re: Bikes of a Plane

Hi Chris, was very happy reading your comments. Since my original post I had looked into posting it and parcel force seemed a good option. I'm relieved I'm not the only one considering it. When will you actually be sending it? My ride isn't until september so if yours is before then it would be good...

Routing - Through the Lake district

Has anyone any experience of taking a route through the lake district? I don't knwo the area atall but would love to go there and wondered whether I could take a route through it. Its not too far from my original route. Looking at going from north to south using the A592 then A5074.
