Re: Use of tyre sealent

I contacted Muc off

Here is there reply

Our inner tube sealant is designed to last the life of the tyre and not to dry out like "tubeless" sealant will.
So you should be fine to keep on cycling.

Re: Holiday insurance

In 2003 my wife and I were on holiday in France she somehow went into a ditch, In the process broke her wrist together with some facial damage.
This necessitated 3 days in hospital, just to add to the trauma,we had flown to Marseille ,we were in Apt about 100 miles from the airport.

Clearly my wife could not cycle, fortunately we had full CTC (at the ) insurance.

The insurance cover provided for just about everything.

The cost of hospital fees, an ambulance to transport my wife to the airport, A taxi for me together with panniers and our two bikes (top of the range Thorn XTCs.

My advice is dont take chances insurance

Re: Hill Starts - E-assist not helping

My wife similar issues regarding starting on hills, partly to having short legs in relation to her height.

She has recently purchased a Wisper 705 full throttle version which provides power immediately. The bike comes with a certificate from Driver & Vehicle Agency. This costs an additional £300,00.

It seems to have helped considerably, though living in the flat lands of Oxfordshire, tis early days to claim problem solved.

Re: Wisper 705 26" wheel

Im still adjusting to the Wisper, At 82 years of age my knees and hips are not really up using a normal bike.

I have two 705s purchased from Thame Cycles local to me.My wife's Wisper is the full throttle version which cost about £200.00 more.

I will one day try it out,as it appears to offer more natural cycling.

Thank you,I thought that was how to do it,looks quite tricky.
I'm hoping not get a rear wheel puncture when miles from home.

Re: Wisper 705 26" wheel

I have recently purchased a 705, I am wondering how you removed the rear wheel. Well specifically how you disconnected the power cable,it is very neatly routed in the rear stay. It looks good but how did you disconnect it?

Re: Cycle Carrier for eBike

I have just had to accept that I need an ebike, I am 82 , my wife will also get one.

We have for many years taken bikes on our car,I do have a Thule tow ball rack but it is likely to be, not beefy enough for two ebikes.

I contacted Thule to see what they suggested here is their response.

Please note though E-bikes are rather large, wide and sturdy, while on some of our models there is limited space on the supporting platform or in between two wheel gutters. As long as the maximum weight per bike is not exceeded, you could indeed choose amongst our wide range of Bike Racks.
Our recommendation is to choose a bike rack where your bikes are comfortably held by the wheel trays and straps, and where the bikes are not rubbing against each other, such as our Thule Easyfold XT and Thule Velospace XT.
Because most heavy bikes makes transporting e-bikes on the roof/or hatch mounted carriers hard, we recommend a tow bar mounted one.

If your e-bike is a larger mounted bike with full suspension and the battery is included into the frame, there could be some issues fastening it on the Easyfold XT 2 . The Bike Racks with most space is the Velospace XT 2 .

We advise to do a test mount on the models shown in the Local Dealer's showroom Dealer locator | Thule | United Kingdom

Both models, are compatible with the ramp:

Re: Colostomy

I had bladder cancer six years ago surgery was the result. However I was able to avoid a stoma by opting for a neo bladder.
This entailed removing my bladder and a bladder was formed by part of my bowel. This option is not always possible and discussion with surgeons.clearly needed. I was easily able to carry on cycling,I did post about this at the time.Best wishes

Re: Tandem crank offset front/rear: eccentric bb

I have my tandem set up with me leading by 6 or 7 teeth ,the reason being that my wife not having as much power as me used to complain that she could not push as much as she felt she could.
The comment we get on occasions is for people to ask how we are pedalling at different cadence, clearly we are not.
