Re: Has the forum hit rock bottom?

Here's a picture of me falling off in a ford. https://forum.cyclinguk.org/download/file.php?id=19244 It was a long time back and I have little recollection of the incident but it is possible that my bottom hit a rock  . Oooh, I feel for you, I did just exactly that once, on greasy setts. 15 m...

Re: Has the forum hit rock bottom?

What with 'bring back the birch,English/Irish/Scotsman jokes, and most boring town in the UK threads. Is the forum running itself into a cult de sac of drivle? :? I'm spending less time on forums in general, including this one. I suspect I'm not alone. I don't mind different opinions, and I'm more t...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Hello Flinders, So now Politicians are a protected Species? Can't be to many supporting that cause! TTFN MM * P.S. Was that a departed relative of yours whose remains were rediscovered at Euston Station? (An effort at humour, to lighten the mood) Matthew Flinders deserves great respect, indeed some...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Nissan is now not building the new X Trail in the UK, despite the government's assurances. As, indeed, I predicted. They are also 'looking at' the things currently produced in Sunderland, so that's not even the worst of it. Especially now Japan has just signed a big treaty with the EU, I'm reasonab...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Two pages since I was last on! Irish border again .................. What people seem to forget, is that before The Troubles, there was free movement across the border. British passports and serving in the UK armed forces proves it. Your memory of free movement forgets the movement of goods, ...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Hi 661-Pete, Always nice to be told that any decision we have made in life has been an action occasioned by stupidity! I wish I was as much of a genius as you! (Note heavy sarcasm) We numpty's must learn our place in the way of things! Oh to be as perfect and fault-free as you. What do I have to sa...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

hi again, So Nissan's decision to build their next model in Japan rather than the Uk is all down to Brexit? Well the financial section of the Daily Telegraph quotes the Chairman of Nissan's European arm as laying the blame firmly on "Business reasons" affected by rules on diesel engines a...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

That's never included Ireland. How do you work that out? VoteLeave's website: In a world of so many new threats, it's safer to control our own borders and decide who can come into the country. How is that possible with no border between the UK and Ireland? Or by 'the country', did they mean England...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Because the UK decided to demand control of its borders? No they haven't. UK and Ireland don't want a controlled border. It's the EU who want to control all their external borders. No it isn't. This is a WTO issue. If the EU offers us free trade after we leave, it has to offer all other WTO countri...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Your paying for Liam Fox staying in one of the most luxurious hotels in Davos too. He's not there officially to speak or represent the UK, but rather trying to fix up a few trade deals. Worth a read to see how we're doing on those trade deals. So far we've got none - although that's not fair, we do...

Re: Walking trousers

I tend just to wear thermal leggings. Just cheap bog standard cotton ones from Millets. I wouldn't wear a cotton top, I go for wickable/breathable there, but I don't get sweaty legs, so I don't see reason to spend more money when cotton is very comfortable. Nice and comfy, nothing to rub. If it rain...

I've only just seen this but I've already covered it (I think) in a post at 0840 today above.

Sorry, must have missed that.

Caught exceeding the maximum speed limit, twice? :? I am proud to report that I was stopped for 'speed', once in 31 years, Constable Sargent noticed that I was driving slowly, followed me home, he wondered if I had been drinking Of course not! Have driven automatics but mostly manual I think automa...

She denies having such knowledge and reports there being no signs. Either inadequate signage by the organisers, unfortunate on her part to have missed the or she's being disingenuous. On the other hand even if there are signs she still has every right to be there and to expect due care by people ra...
