Thank you for your extensive reply!
It is a 29er wheel and it has been laced before. That might explain.
Thank you again!

Re: Simple puncture repair check
Moodyman1 wrote:I find pinch punctures to be nigh on impossible to get a reliable repair. Purely because they are on the edge where the tube bends. Also, those punctures that are near to a rubber seam - they don't allow the patch to seat properly and start leaking.
If it's near a seam, I use the sandpaper or if at home, a new Stanley blade to file off / cut off the little ridge at the seam.

My point was, you CAN get one at Schipol.
Only if you fly with that specific airline.
They sold me 3 when I wasn't flying with them. It did say KLM on the box though.

In theory
I've had few of these. Just out of interest, once I reported my bike "stolen" via the app and continued using the bike in busy central London locations over a course of about 5 days. Nobody picked up the Bluetooth signal of my bike!!!!!!

Parts directly from Taiwan?
I'm looking to get some TRP disc brakes from FLeebay Taiwan, they're about half the UK price.
Am i gonna have to pay customs fees? Are they fakes?
Anyone been down this route before?

shows very nicely how much extra clearance you get with a Spyre/spyke caliper; quite a lot!
cheers
Thanks Brucey, this photo is great!

Re: Disc +rear rack
Wow! Thank you everyone for their input!
Really useful!
I think I'll upgrade to the Spyke and go from there once I see the clearance.

Re: Disc +rear rack
Thanks guys, yeah I might need both, slimmer calipers AND disc rack.
No, it only has fitting for discs.
meic wrote:Does the bike have fittings for a rim brake?
I gave up on the disc brake and went back to using rear cantilevers, mounting a rack securely was a main reason for doing so.

Disc +rear rack
I have a Genesis Fortitude with BB7 brakes and a non disc Tubus rear rack, but there's not enough clearance to fit the rack.
Would TRP cable actuated brakes give enough clearance? Or shall I get a disc comp rear rack?
What's best?
