Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

We're also in the West of Scotland (Howwood) and have had our dynohubs - Shimano 3N80 & XT, and a SON - now with B&M IQ-X and View Braketec rears for years now, previously Cyo Premiums, and have had no issues ,with zero maintenance and we do ride in all weathers. We buy or stuff from Bike 24...

Look at the Wera Zyklop belts and decide which ones you need, then buy from Amazon Germany [emoji6]

Ortlieb bottle cage and additional pocket

Anyone got these both fitted to a pannier and can you post a photo. Any pros/cons? My wife's bike has only space for one bottle and we need some more whilst touring.

TIA.... Paul

Instead of Rohloff, what about an Alfine 8 or 11 sp IGH? Also possible to add a Gates belt with suitable Frame mod?

Re: Touring bike build - questions?

The miniatures? all full and sealed. I don't drink. :) Ah. It’s hard to tell scale in a photo of a room you don’t know. I couldn’t resist playing with your username. I’m digging the mudflaps although they’ll be controversial in some quarters! Yes, that's why I bought them. :) The thought of Scotlan...

Re: Rear light for hub dynamo

Bonkers. Not only is a dynamo rear light substantially more reliable than a battery light, you don't have to make a special stop to turn it on. You can get permanent/battery rear lights with automatic (daylight/motion sensor) function, just like you can get automatic rear lights that work off a dyn...

Re: about to buy Dyno hub & light

Don't some of the B&M dynamo front lights have a standlight that relies on a small internal rechargeable battery? A rechargeable battery that will, like all rechargeable batteries, have a lifespan? Am I right I thinking the Edelux 2 doesn't, and so should keep its standlight function longer? I ...

Re: about to buy Dyno hub & light

We also live in the West of Scotland and I use the IQ-X with a Shimano XT dynamo. I don't get up to your speed, but the beam pattern in the dark on the cycle path out to Lochwinnoch gives me great confidence and I've had no issues for the nearly 2 years I've had it. All of our bikes have dynamo ligh...

Blow the budget and get a dynamo front wheel and a B&M IQ-X. Brilliant - literally :)

New tyres: Schwalbe Marathon Plus or Conti Contact Plus

Anyone got any direct experience of these 2 tyres? Got M+ on both the wife and I's tourers, but need new tyres for the do it all bike in 26" and fancied a change from M+ to try the Conti's.

Anyone got them and have any experience compared to M+?

TIA... Paul
