Re: Road riding in Czech

We should be triking the Prague-Vienna Greenways route this May. From memory this is route 12. It appears that there's some gravel sections and trikes are hard work on gravel. Can anyone say how extensive these parts are.
Are campsites plentiful?

Re: cycle rack straps

Yes should have said it's a recumbent trike. Unless someone comes up with a better idea I'll get some with a cam buckle strap. Think I've seen them with a padded area under the buckle.

cycle rack straps

I need to buy some cycle car rack straps. It's to strap a trike to a towbar mounted platform style rack so the buckle will be in mid air so to speak. Which buckle is best - ratchet style, ladderlock or what, to avoid it working loose. The wheels will be individually strapped down but I wouldn't just...

Re: Buying petrol for multifuel stove in UK

Hopefully fuel will act as a midge repellant. It won't. I remember a particularly ghastly breakfast on the east coast of S.Uist (near Ben Corradale) where we ate walking in circles, and still ended up a solid mass of swelling, there were so many bites. DEET or Citronella is the only remedy. imo the...

Re: Buying petrol for multifuel stove in UK

I've the same stove and petrol is ok but smokes and carbons up the stove a bit. Just get the stove really hot and it'll burn the carbon off. Once done I just turn the stove off - I know that's wrong but letting it burn out as per the instructions risks carboning the stove up. I do that every so ofte...

Re: Fitting bar bag at side of ICE Sprint seat

I have an ICE Adventure HD with the frame riser. I have a klikfix handlebar fitting and a couple of the extension units fitted - keeps the bag close in to the seat and lower than the ICE bar - probably a lot lighter too! I had two upwrongs so I still have a bar unit and just need to get a couple of...

Re: Merging GPX files

yes that's what I was thinking, if the separate gpxs really end and begin close by. Still need to run the file through a syntax checker though. Usually straightforward though now and again I am baffled by the report back/can't for the life of me see the problem. Yes of course you can copy/paste and...

Re: Merging GPX files

You can use cycle.travel to see all the journeys in one folder on a map. If you click 'My bike' -> 'Journeys', then the folder list on the right has little 'Map' links: click one of these and all the journeys in that folder will be superimposed together on a map. Click one of them to open it in the...

Re: Merging GPX files

I often download gps files and sometimes they are comprised of small sections which by themselves aren't much use eg French gps routes from the Eurovelo sites I'm just planning a trip to Budapest via Berlin and Prague on cycle.travel in smaller sections, say 3 days at a time. I'd like to see larger...
