Re: Dual carriageway cycling / hard shoulder ?
How am I supposed to reach the cycle off-slip if I can't cycle on the hardshoulder?

Re: Can Koga Feathershock forks -be replaced?
A brief google discovers somebody switching from a standard Koga fork to Feathershock. https://minotaurus.pl/en/bicycle-modifications/
Make of that what you will.

Re: Cycling UK AGM 2024
Yes, Article 11 of the old AoA required membership rate changes to be approved by the members and Article 13 had no relevance to that point but no, Article 11 does not remain in place.
The tracked changes document only details the changes as amended by special resolution 7 at the AGM. Special resolution 5 removed the requirement for members to vote on price increases, allowing the board to change membership fees without such changes having to be approved by members.
Companies Act 2006 s.303 does provide a mechanism for members to require a general meeting and put a resolution to it, as it did before the AGM changes to our AoA.
The support of 400 members was required to call for a Poll of the Whole Club, 5% of our membership (approx 3,550) are required to call a general meeting. That level of support will be considerably harder to achieve.

Link to the amendments document as issued with the AGM papers.
I cannot find a clearer version of the updated AoA on the Cycling UK website.
Edit: Updated AoA now found: https://www.cyclinguk.org/sites/default ... 2024_0.pdf

One of the amendments to our AoA approved by members at the AGM, set out in the tracked changes version of the documents circulated with the voting papers.

Re: Question for @admin : why do users have a larger post count than actual posts?
The most common innocent explanation is that posts made on the For Sale/Wanted boards, Test board and People Events and Rides board are auto deleted.

Re: Cycling UK AGM 2024
The results are up, all resolutions were carried.
The power to set future membership rates now lies solely with our Trustees, our AoA no longer allow for Polls of the Whole Club.

Re: Informal Zebra Crossings
The purpose of a trial is to establish how well they work in comparison to no markings and/or a formal side road zebra. The evidence from these trials (and others?) will be examined by DfT to inform any decisions on whether such markings should be allowed and/or enforceable.

Re: Used Brompton for commuting - aspects to consider?
If a train is packed to standing room only it can be difficult or impossible to board with a Brompton.
If you are changing trains within a station a Brompton is quite a hefty lump to manage on escalators and stairs, if I have anything but light baggage I'll head for the lifts. Using lifts takes longer, especially if you're queueing behind other people with luggage and cases for the limited space available. Allow some extra time for any connections within stations.

Re: Informal Zebra Crossings
Excellent news. Here's hoping the trial proves to be a success.
Informal zebra's are nothing new. I know one that has been in place for half a century or more, I doubt that anyone has bothered to collect comparative data on driver compliance.
