Hi I have newish Ultegra STI levers on my bike (assembled for me last May) and I want to change the bars. To do this I obviously need to remove the levers which happen to be Ultegra but I am b******d if I can find the releasing screw. I have been to the Shimano technical documents site http://techdo...

Re: How tight a Brooks Swift? Alternative Saddle?

Hi All, I'm giving up on the Brookes. In fact, I'm finding that virtually any saddle on any of my bikes, adjusted up-down, fore-aft, tilted front-tilted back, is giving me numb willie syndrome, to a greater or lesser extent. I'm guessing that it might be an age thing, due to my developing prostatiti...

Re: Number of spokes for road/touring

I have 36 hole rear and 32 hole front as recommended by Big Al. That was good enough for me.

If thats Big Al as in Wheelcraft, Clachan of Campsie, then I too have 36 rear and 32 front because thats what he recommended to me also. That was good enough for me too.

Re: At last!

Specifically, does anyone know if the Mirrycle fits Ultegra shifters?

Thanks

Re: How tight a Brooks Swift?

You've made quite a substantial change to your position in order to make an uncomfortable saddle bearable. Why not sell the Brooks and buy a comfortable saddle? The saddle used to be comfortable until I moved it to a new bike. I am hoping that its just teething trouble that you get with a new bike ...

Re: How tight a Brooks Swift?

Thanks to all for your suggestions. My saddle is now 15mm forward, about 4mm lower and tilted a degree or so more to the front. I've just done 10 miler and it seems a little better but I'll need to wait until the weekend to get in a longer run.

Re: How tight a Brooks Swift?

Hi 531colin

Thanks fo rthe suggestions. The saddle used to be comfortable but then I transferred to to a new bike and am doing a lot more miles on it. I'll try moving it forward. That's about the only thing I havn't tied yet. Here's hoping!

Cheers

Re: How tight a Brooks Swift?

Hi Julk I've tried changing seat angle as well as changing seat height, nothing seems to help. When I compare my Swift to my Brooks B17 and Brooks Professional I note that the sag on the Swift is much more than on these. I attach a photo showing the amount of sag. Looks way to much to me and I canno...

How tight a Brooks Swift?

I have a problem with a titanium Brooks Swift saddle. It starts out feeling very comfortable but as a ride progresses, the front part of the saddle increasingly presses into my tender areas leading to a nerve compression and loss of all sensation where you want it most. Looking at the saddle, it see...

Re: Couriers?

Will do. This bike has a fair bit of the original Campag stuff on it including Super Record derallieurs, hubs, brakes, cranks, all in good working nick but could do with restoration.

Re: Couriers?

Thanks MikewsMITH2, just what I needed. Like your bikes by the way. I see you are a steel man. I am shortly going to be Ebaying a ~1981 Raleigh 753. Looks quite like the gold one here but 753 rather than 531 ( http://radpropaganda.org/raleigh-team-pro-timeline/raleigh-team-trauma-professional/) . In...
