Re: Have you heard this? "I'm a cyclist too!"

I've heard it once, it's prob been said many more times to me, until I see them on a bike i assume they are just trying to excuse whatever they are doing to get past.

Re: Single out

On a road like that singling out to let a car pass if it was safe to do so wouldn't be the end of the world though the speed some drivers do on narrow roads i could imagine a possible collision happening which the cyclists letting a car past which they wouldn't or couldn't be able to forsee.

Re: "75% of cyclists think helmets should be compulsory"

I note that Cycleguard's MD wants a particular result: "We hope people continue to become more safety conscious and wary of the dangers involved when cycling without helmets and reflective clothing." All you need to know about that article, i'm assuming (possibly wrongly) they have a agen...

Re: Nearisde passes while taking the lane

Some idiots will do whatever it takes to pass including undertaking, you can only ride to stop them physically getting up the inside but then they will probably compromise your safety by going around the outside before you get to the parked car, whatever it takes in other words.

Like has been said above, all of them seem like keyboard warriors, keep on riding your bike and enjoy it with or without the camera.

The ones who complain are just trying to cover up for them being poor drivers, all huff and puff.

Re: Stop Headway - Helmet compulsion in Northern Ireland

You wouldn't want to pass a law knowing how many people might be affected. True, this Pat chap doesn't seem that bright to be honest or just ill informed or stubborn. The thing that hits me is one of his arguments seems to be "racing cyclists are required to wear helmets", but as fan as I...

Re: Stop Headway - Helmet compulsion in Northern Ireland

Thanks for the link snibgo, this quote makes me chuckle:

Mr P Ramsey:

I do not have evidence on the numbers of cyclists in Northern Ireland who do not use helmets, and I am not sure that it is readily to hand

He sure done his homework properly...
