Re: Good off-road locations???

For more muddy and woody riding Esher Common, Oxshot Heath are worth it - you can access from Bushy Park and Littleworth Common with a few road link ups in between.

Re: BMW ad showing close passing of cyclists

Ironically at first glance it does look like the cyclist is giving the driver "the finger"

Re: Boris-bikes

This is in effect a massive test of bike registration as a way of tracking down cyclists who commit misdemeanors such as red light jumping, cycling on the pavement etc. I hadn't given that much thought about the numbers on them. You'd like to think it would make a difference, but I doubt unless it ...

Re: BBC presenters using helmets?

Maybe a bit harsh, that's a fair point but It's just a observation from debates on here, naturally it depends on the people debating, personally I am pro choice like most people are I guess but I can't see me ever wearing one unless when i go MTBing with friends - because I don't want to make my wel...

Re: BBC presenters using helmets?

TemNumpty, you'll never convince some people on here that your friends were saved by their helmets. I've tried and failed; even in the most obvious and extreme cases there will be some who will never believe you- it's pointless arguing with them. There's none so deaf as those who won't hear. Yet it...

Re: Should we boycott LBC?

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win. I like that quote too but it seems it just goes around in circles in this country, not that it bothers me that much. I'll always be cycling whatever the reaction of the minority who think they own the roads, cyclists ...

Re: Collision Oval this morning - any witnesses?

I can't help but glad to here you are still with us despite this deranged individual's pathetic attempts.

the Police were still considering whether to arrest the driver

I hope they did, this guy clearly shouldn't be driving a car let alone a taxi.

Re: Should we.......

Another angle to this question is: Has anyone ever experienced anything positive after 'advising' a errant motorist of their bad driving? I was turning right at a mini roundabout in the centre of a village and a driver coming from my left didn't appear to see me on the roundabout (I was expecting t...

Re: Setting an example when driving

I'd be shocked if any cyclist on this forum didn't leave space when overtaking another cyclist!

Try doing a few laps around Richmond Park then you'll find out what some "cyclists" can be like.

Re: Are there just too many cars on the road today?

What you say is very true. However, the problem suffered by some (many?) is that there just aren't any buses to start with. That depends where you live, in London there is little need for a car. Fortunately most of us don't  You don't know what you are missing out, London is one unique city
