i did this trip last year ( well edinburgh to gibraltar ) i cycled to dover and wouldn't do that again how about edinburgh to rosyth then zeebrugge to france down to perpignan and over the pyrennees then along the n340 to alicante , i averaged about 100 kilometres a day bit short of 80 miles email m...

i use a Rab ladakh it is now 12 years old and as good now as it ever was. it was expensive but realistically it has been used over a thousand bed nights at least so it works out bloody reasonable

in november and december last year i cycled from here (edinburgh) to gibraltar right across england and through france and spain , the weather was interesting to say the least one night sleeping out under the stars the next huddled in my tent at -5 or so as long as you have the layering right it isn...

when i toured belgium with my son he was on an out and out race bike , i fitted a rack (tubus) with p clips and it was fine. though apart from a couple of days the trails were pretty flat and pretty smooth

there are quite a lot of campsites on the coast at co'path, dunbar has two or three a cracking wee site at belhaven ,port seton (seton sands )berwick has east ord and loads of others inland may be quite different but there are loads of hedges ;-).
