Re: Brompton S2 handlebar hight

Thanks guys, thats helpful.

Im 5'11" and need the longer seatpost at full extension - looking at the pic this would seem feasable. The Woking branch of Evans stocks S2's and does test rides so I will pay them a visit.

Cheers

Brompton S2 handlebar hight

. Confined to quarters due to suspected swine flu I have been researching my next bike on the internet. I am drawn to an S2 Brompton but cant seem to fathom the handlebar height issue. I have read on one site that the straight bars are 2.5 inches lower that the traditional 'U' shaped ones - which wo...

Re: Where do you keep your bike?

I moved house last year. Whist house hunting I would only consider something with a garage! Plenty of room in here for lots of bikes as well as my workbench, tools and store cupboards, lawnmower etc Theres no way that I would park a car in there - that would be just a waste of space....................

Re: Some car drivers do care

When I was hit from behind by a WMV a few years back and knocked through a hedge I was treated with concern and kindness by at least two other drivers until the ambulance arrived. I was OK after a couple of weeks which is more than can be said for the Brompton.......... Some of my week is spent driv...

Re: cyclist nearly knocked door off my car this morning

Im actualy quite heartened by the politeness and consideration I come across on a daily basis, especialy from youngsters. I dont think that the genreal deterioration in peoples behaviour is as bad as we are led to believe. I meet more nice people than I do unpleasant ones. Scaremongering and predica...

No no no, single speed is all the rage these days!

Ah, that narrows it down then.

Must be the Volvo..............

brilliant velorun 8) however, without going into the depths of the dark shed, i couldn't tell you the width, perhaps it's 5 or 6"? so you can't carry a 7 inch cube. whilst i'll happily concede that it's an occasional problem, when it does occur you'll wish you had a canvas pannier 8) Good poin...

Re: Bike Bins

I have a pair and love them. Practical, waterproof and good looking. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k261/ian_hutchinson/Sparta3.jpg Comments re odd items rattling around and being noisy are quite correct though. I keep a quantity of bubble wrap in each pannier and this has solved the problem for ...

Re: Too Hot?

30+ around these parts (Berkshire). I rode the 1 mile to Waitrose and back to restock on lager earlier this evening and was exhausted when I returned. Felt as though I have rode 10! Theres no way I can ride the 16 miles to work in this heat - sorry to say that the Volvo is currently pressed into ser...

Re: rear view mirror on moustache bars

I've jut got one of the old fashioned ones, on the end of a rod, that clamps to the bars just inside the brake levers for mine. Think it was a couple of quid from the local cheapo cycle shop. Dotbike stock a traditional Busch & Muller motorbike-type clamp-on mirror for £9.08. It's much better t...
