First get a cyclist, then a nice healthy green bush. Then get a blue van.
You then need to add a little terror to the cyclist and followed by a bit of I would like to live till tomorrow.
Once you mix all of that, you then make the sandwich by squeezing the cyclist into a space that is almost physically impossible to fit.
And there you have it
The Perfect cyclist sandwich.

Re: Is it a, see how close we can get the HGV to the cyclist
The company have not made contact with me at all.
Obviously safety of the general public is of upmost importance.
I really do hope it was not A Hingley Transport company that told me to "No.. F*** off and get a life"
You can see the comment to my video here

A reputable company would surely not say something like that to a concerned member of the public over the safety standards of one of its HGV drivers? Surely they take safety seriously?

Is it a, see how close we can get the HGV to the cyclist ?
I've decided to contact the company again and withdraw my complaint.
As I now understand that the close pass was completely my fault and the driver was justified in his actions due to the fact that my road positioning was slightly out.
I've also contacted my local MP, county council and highway agency of my suggestion of painting a thin blue line on every road in Britain at a specific distance from the curb.
This will have two outcomes. One it will show cyclist exactly where they need to position themselves on the road to remove any risk of injury and show other road users exactly were cyclists belong on the road.
It will also allow a presumed liability of the cyclist too.
As if the cyclist is not cycling on the blue line and they get hit then they accept full accountability of the accident with not fault of the motorist
This incident has also educated me as a driver. I know understand that if I pass a cyclist and they are not a specific distance from the curb I can now pass them as close as I can without any recourse for myself.

Being a few inches over obviously justifies the driver of this HGV and his actions.

It's funny isn't it that it's a reflection of society that the first thing we do is criticise the victim because of a few inches.
Shows what a vehicle society we are and its influence it has on us even as cyclists.

Re: New alpkit sleeping bags and mats
I would be looking for a 400 or 600 pipe dream if they do them again.
But that sort of price puts me off a little. A little more expensive than I was expecting from alpkit.
We will see if they do further bags, and prices.

Tapatalk requests tiresome
As you might know tapatalk have made some new updates that have made the app so awful that has made is unusable.
So first I would ask if CTC can remove themselves from tapatalk.
Why you ask?
Well because I am trying to access the CTC forum directly via the Safari browser on my iPad and iPhone.
Each time I press and button to access the CTC forum or view a topic ect I get a pop up asking me to access the CTC forum via tapatalk.
This popup comes up 4 !!!!! TIMEs every time. It's an ABSOLUTE pain!!!! Tapatalk was bad enough but trying to access
The CRC forum directly is being ruined by these tapatalk Pop ups.
Can the forum administrator please do something about this. Thanks

I wonder who they were thinking might do the formal regulation?

disgusting behaviour by british cycling. They should have nothing to do with these people. If we allow this to happen in the New Forest then this anti cycling could spread elsewhere.
I wonder why British Cycling is doing this? Mmmmmmmmmm,

Sram crankset and GPX BB advise
I've got myself a new singlespeed sram crank set
This one
http://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;s ... duct=29035
I build all my own bikes and have fitted cranksets before.
The question I would like to ask is, do you put loctite on the crankbolt?
I normally put loctite on the crankbolt, but for some reason this part was covered in grease already in the box.
I have looked at the instructions and it identifies all the obvious parts that require grease and these are pre greased correctly. The instructions do not state if the crankbolt needs greasing, only shows the required tourque.
I though it was safer to have no grease but to loctite the crankbolt.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks

I remember once being enraged because a driver drove into me when I didnt get out of his way on a narrow lane but as there was no damage done, there wasnt anything that I could (legally) do about it.
The Police will not do anything when there is damage (that is a civil case), so without any damage no hope.
The OP was injured. That is an injury accident that the driver should have stopped for or reported to police. It's not like car mirrors touching whilst passing carefully.
IMO, the OP should go to the GP or A&E to document the injury, even if it isn't extremely painful now.
I had an injury to my shoulder when I got knocked off. No lasting damage but got nearly £2000.
