Re: Longevity in cycling

I took up cycling because i was on the dole, i had to make something of my life, 1.5 years on the dole searching for any kind of job, had a few part time jobs in between but nothing to substantial to get off the dole.

Always liked cycling to and from school, but then left school, went to college then after that decided to buy a MTB for around £600 from money i saved up, then it hit me. I LOVE CYCLING! :D

Re: Why don't I use Wiggle?

I always use wiggle unless i need it straight away, i ordered loads of things together and it came in a huge box that was water damaged and broken, i sent the photo off to wiggle just to mention about it.

This was City-Link!

Re: Old cyclist, and a little sad.

I always give a thumbs up or a smile to other cyclists on the road i also say morning as i pass them!

I'm 21 as well! Where i am, everyone else does the same. It's the people who ride the bikes on the pavement that don't give you acknowledgement back.

Re: Expensive rubbish

Talk about expensive journeys for nothing, at a place i work at they decided to pick up a 1" Flange from down redcar, after only having some drops in darlington then hartlepool.

I'm sure they could of mailed the flange up. Sigh.

Alot of pointless journeys get made at work. Waste of diesel.

Re: Your 2011 Accident Injuries !

It was one of the straight through roundabouts, wasn't going round the bend at 25mph, now that would be a BAD idea.#

Re: Your 2011 Accident Injuries !

Only one scare i've had with a car and it was Just after March this year i think, on a roundabout. I was in the middle of the lane clearly lit up with bright hi viz rain jacket and lights on the front. (This was in the dark.)

Doing a fairly decent speed of 25mph as it's fairly flat and it was an old bat in a small Suzuki, didn't see me at all! She waited but then just pulled out oblivious.

I skidded to an extent i was parallel with her car and doing the same speed i didn't even fall off which i was amazed at. I only bent her mirror back holding on for dear life!

Re: Brighter car lights recommended

I hate driving at night, or cycling at night even just because other car lights dazzle my eyes, some of the lights are not set properly too high resulting in a "high beam" effect.
