Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

There is a very nice letter though, thanking Chris for his sterling service, from Angela Byrne and David Wood, and supported by the editor. But I agree, no formal recognition is a sad reflection on the present management.

Re: Hera International Bib Tights

Hmmm, interesting but their address in Manchester is a very run down terraced house - not sure I'd be happy handing over my cc details to that. I suppose via Amazon or eBay offers some protection.

Re: Y Frame Discounts Ltd.

Its an Amazon affiliate - 'Orders are placed through Amazon and as such We do not dispatch, fulfill or refund any orders. Returns, disputes and any order queries remain the responsibility of Amazon. We does not accept any responsibility for orders placed with Amazon.' No address, no phone number, no...

Very, very similar to the Kinesis Tripster ATR, which has proved to be enormously popular.

Re: Cleaning titanium

I asked Van Nicholas how best to clean my Amazon - I was told to use either WD40 or, for special events, baby oil. I actually use GT85, wipe on, polish off with paper towel, still looks brand new after 5 years, but Ti does pick up fingerprints, albeit they are easily wiped away again. Just washing a...

Interesting - you can never have too many saddle reviews, and that's a saddle I haven't seen before.

Re: Fat Birds (Don't Fly) - Hunstanton

I don't suppose VN will be interested either - they seem to be in decline since the business was sold to Koga and founder Jan Willem left last year. Website not updated, no new products (save for a handlebar …) and no replies to questions or complaints on Facebook. My experience with a VN dealer som...

Re: Shutt velo rapide

Perhaps they're flooded. I returned an item a while ago, and had to chase a refund. I was told the person that did them only worked part time and I'd have to wait, as their terms allowed them 30 days to refund - they did it (just) within this period. Together with an unexplained delay in shipping i...

Re: Objections to planning permission

Overlooking is a key issue - my Local Authority demand 22m window to window (unless there is a highway in between). You mention 20 feet, which is only 6.6m, which is very overbearing. All of the advice above is sound - object and encourage neighbours to do so. Contact your councillor, who may or may...

Re: Dotbike

It is the case - had an email from them a couple of days ago - "DOTBIKE ARE CLOSING - Massive Stock Clearance - EVERYTHING MUST GO
Unfortunately, Dotbike will be closing when we have cleared our current stock. We would like to thank all our customers over the past 10 years of business."

Re: Interesting new GPS

Yes, Rainmaker confirms 'Garmin has pre-loaded the unit with free maps from OpenStreetMap'. I'd like to know if OS maps can be used - they're available for the 810 on a card, so it _should_ be possible.

Re: Interesting new GPS

Read this guys comments - he's helping Garmin with feedback. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/08/garmin-touring-computer.html His reviews are so exhaustive, its exhausting. The forthcoming Bryton Rider 60, which should be available this month, has all of the Touring and more, inc bluetooth and option...
