In our village a 'Menu' (ie starter, main course and dessert with wine included) is 15€. the 'plat du jour' (just main course) is 8€, and combinations thereof.

There will only be undulating roads if you're in an undulating part of France, surely? You won't get much undulation in Les Landes for example.

Nope. Nothing like it.

Re: Old french trike - seized caps on the hubs

Any ideas where I can buy the appropriate parts? Rims and spokes for 700c and 26" wheels are easy to find. 20" 28 spoke not to easy :)

Also, anyone got any good ideas of how I can thread the spokes in from the frame side? I've tried getting the old spokes out from that side and it's just impossible. I could drill a hole in the flat plate that's against the hub I suppose?

Re: Old french trike - seized caps on the hubs

Thanks all. Yes it will be a labour of love, but it's not going to get used much. Certainly not on the roads. Maybe it is a good time to learn to build some wheels. I've fixed many a broken spoke and bent wheel, so I should give it a go!

Re: I bought a trike...

Thanks. I need to remove the wheels as they are truly shot and beyond saving. I don't think they could have new spokes laced onto the hubs, but then again I'm not a wheel-builder.

There's no brand name on the trike, it has been sitting in a barn for years here in France. Any info gratefully received :)

Old french trike - seized caps on the hubs

...and I realise I don't know how to get the wheels off :). The rear wheels have a large nut-shaped thing on the end but they won't budge. Do they have a left-handed thread? They are very rusty so I've given them a soak in plus-gas and have left them overnight. I'd rather be turning them the right way though :) Pics to follow!
