Re: Acid Attacks - what do we do?

Not a single UK prosecution for FGM yet.

I get the feeling that acid attacks are in the same sort of territory and unlikely to be taken as seriously as they should be.

Re: Civilisational problems

If President Trump, Marine Le Pen, Nigel Farage or Mrs May had said Africans have 'civilizational problems' the outrage would have lasted for weeks and all sorts of accusations would have been made about them.

Mr Macron seems to have attracted little attention.

We all know why.

Re: BBC Pay - Please Sir I want some more

There is no reason for the state to pay Gary Lineker 2p for his services, never mind £2 million. That's because there is no reason why the state should be involved in the manufacture of TV entertainment at all. We don't have state run bingo halls, book publishers, video game makers, pop music labels...

Re: BBC Pay

The state nationalised the BBC in 1926 as it became apparent that broadcasting was an excellent way of pacifying and controlling the public, and of manipulating and influencing the views it holds.

High wages for entertainers and news staff are an essential part of exercising state control.

Re: Ballistic nylon as a tyre liner?

All nylon acts in a ballistic manner when given the opportunity.

As does every other substance.

Civilisational problems

Does African have civilisational problems?

French president Emmanuel Macron thinks it does.

What does the forum think?

Re: Do You think we should leave the EU?

Interesting point about republic not applying with royals. In the creation of a European super state would you have space for a monarchy within the political creation? The monarchs would only represent a small part of the super state. They'd have to be reduced to no formal role just a regional, his...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Great to see things progressing in parliamenttoday. Only last year I really didn't think I'd ever see the day like this when a bill was introduced to parliament to begin freeing us from the EU's control. It just goes to show the power of our democracy and the political freedom of our people when a m...

You should have told them where to mind their own business.

It is up to every cyclist to decide their own red light policy.

Just listened to Mr Farage's show on LBC.

I recommend it.

Re: Do You think we should leave the EU?

I think we should leave the EU now. I don't see the point in negotiating with a fiercely protectionist bloc which is motivated by self interest and a desire to continue to have access to our money. Some people are not worth talking to and it is better to walk away from them and let them do as they l...

Re: Do You think we should leave the EU?

I've noticed that the more difficult and bitter a dispute, a disagreement or difference of opinion becomes the less the likelihood of reconciliation and of the parties involved agreeing not to disagree and to go back to how things were.

Brexit is going just fine.

Re: Do You think we should leave the EU?

Things are looking good for a hard Brexit.

It is increasingly obvious that no agreements can be reached and we are headed for a split which will reveal the full extent of the EU's self-interest and fierce protectionism.

This is exactly what I've hoped for since the referendum.

Re: Do You think we should leave the EU?

I don't care what anyone thinks. So far, so self evident... But I'm well-educated and intelligent. I thought that entitled my opinions to override those of others. That's the impression I've got from reading a lot of post-referendum analysis from people who seem appalled that the poorly educated ha...

Re: Do You think we should leave the EU?

Farage as PM? Funny guy! About as likely as world peace. I disagree. Look at our recent polls. 2010 - hung parliament. 2015 - Tories win despite huge UKIP vote after they promised a referendum on EU membership. 2016 - we vote Leave in our referendum. 2017 - we vote for a hung parliament again to ge...
