Re: Urgent help needed - Dahon Folding Bikes!

I own a 2013 Dahon Vitesse and I think its a great bike! I put on the Dahon touring rack which allows you to use full sized panniers. I also have the pump in the seat stem and the 'Landing Wheel' fitted. I brought the 2013 Dahon as the newer bikes have the luggage block on the head tube and I have m...

Re: Who ceased CTC membership after charity conversion, etc. ?

I left as 'charity' usually means 'job creation scheme' and I don't/did not want to pay for such a thing. I was approached by the CTC later to sign a form so this charity could claim tax or something on my membership fee. I often wonder who it was in the past who had the original idea to dump the cl...

Re: Myklops Mirror?

I brought one of these as I need a mirror as I am deaf. Up to now I have used a Cateye mirror with the end of the handlebar plug put in the end of my right hand bar end. This mirror looks alright but if I get tired of it I find that it straps to the above bar end and be comes again...a fixed mirror!...

A sort of crampted feeling!

Recently I purchased a new cheap MTB from my local cycle shop with the intent of converting it to a touring cycle. Up to now I have always had 22" sized frames even though I have short legs for my 6 foot height! This time I brought a 18" frame but on testing the bike when it was finished I...

Computer type question

Hello, Recently I purchased some medical history stickers for my two cycles ftom 'Emergency Pal'. As I had to wait a bit for them the company sent a extra....called a....Landing page mat...it looks like a thin folded cardboard? and has printed on the front..."This is your PAL for life". It...

Re: A decent saddle.

Thanks for that MJR. My wife's old cycle had one and it was quite comfortable, but that too had the usual 'nose' sticking out in front to make your bits uncomfortable! Reading all the messages on this section about saddle problems, I can only add that if you don't try something different AND give it...

Re: A decent saddle.

Well, of course if the stockists have none in stock NOW it means that they are sold out...even the stockist I purchased the last Hobson saddle from! Don't worry though Paulatic, I smile when I read of all the moans on here about the traditional saddles hurting botties...

Re: A decent saddle.

I have been making myself a 'W.D. Reynolds Special' touring cycle to use along side my Dahon Vitesse 8 speed folding cycle. The 'Special' for sole all day cycling use and the Dahon for train assisted rides. I tried everywhere in England to obtain a Hobson EasySeat 2 to fit to the new cycle ...BUT, e...

A decent saddle.

I know this section is aimed at women but I see lots of topic headings on it relating to saddles. I have great hip pain from being knocked off my Yamaha in the middle 1970''s plus problems with the rest of my joints from the same accident. I have been down the Brookes route and blow up saddles not t...

Re: Beta Blockers and feeling short of breath.

Further to my first message above, I recently went to my doctors about "Warfarin Red Leg" and other things. My doctor tested my pulse and found the Beta Blockers were making my heart beat far too slow ...so took me off the 2.50mg tablets and put me onto 1.25mg one''s...now I can really wal...

Re: The Allotment is back

They never went away! I had allotments in the 1960's and 1970's when they were just ordinary and not the latest trendy thing to do. You must be aware of one sticking point though. If you put lots of digging and effort plus loads of horse muck and soil additives into your plot and then after a while ...

Re: Looking after a new chain - when to degrease/regrease

Nobody replied to you! For what its worth i have been using my Finishline chain bath for decades and when it broke i got a free replacement from America!! If your not sure about your chain you could keep a log book of your milage and servicing. Maybe 200 miles then use a chain bath to clean chain us...

Re: Why did 'Peddlers' large cycle shop in Worcester close??

Hello 'PH', kindly take a look to the right of my message! Notice it say's i live in NORTH WORCESTERSHIRE, in fact near Bromsgrove. Hardly a local cyclist would you say, also i usually travel into Worcester by train and have only just noticed about Peddlers. The chap that ran the shop when I visited...

Why did 'Peddlers' large cycle shop in Worcester close??

Going past the above cycle shop I noticed that it had its windows papered over and appears to be shut! I see/saw this whilst travelling by bus. Why would such a large shop suddenly close??....

Re: Beta Blockers and feeling short of breath.

You may have missread my message or not understood it. I said if I WAS going to have a operation I would have to come off Warfarin in order to have the fictional operation.....or bleed to death.
