Re: Beta Blockers and feeling short of breath.

When I was in hospital ...(for a week) after finding out what I described above the doctors put me on beta blockers and Warfarin. I am on them both for life. Don't get me wrong about this topic. I don't feel ashamed to push my Dahon up most hills, in fact I like it as my legs get aching from the two...

Beta Blockers and feeling short of breath.

Hello, During 2008 I had to go to hospital as I suddenly was gasping with breath after climbing a flight of stairs that I normally walked up with ease. It was found I had multiply DVT's and Atrial Fiberation.(sp.) After the hospital stay I was put on Warfarin for life and ditto a Beta-Blocker. Prior...

Re: Inclusive Cycling Forum....Here!!

Are you disabled MJR?...... My topic was to help people who were more disabled than me to possibly get on a cycle and have a go! And not find problems 'out there' that be avoided. I suppose I was wrong hoping that people who just drop in to comment on everything that was just there, to be commented ...

Inclusive Cycling Forum....Here!!

If you go into Google and tap in "Inclusive Cycling Forum" you get directed to a page with the new CTC titles. If you then click 'Forum' you DONT end up on a forum about the joys of disability....you end up on THIS one...When I ended up here I was most put out as the powers to be here have...

Re: Hip protection for road riding?

I have long term hip problems caused by a dolt driving a Austin Maxi into my Yamaha in 1975 and making me fly through the air for quite a way. If one is a easy rider its possible to buy jeans with multiply inserts fitted that would help if you come off....I have a pair! I can see the thing about rec...

Re: Tips for the 'un-normal' cyclist!

Sorry to go off topic but what a surprise to find this topic stuck right out in the 'sticks' of this forum! A pity the new CTC only pays lip service to disabled cyclists and to having a section aimed at being disabled. Just as well I left the CTC when it became a charity. Meanwhile more 'Tips' will ...

Where did the Inclusive Cycling section go?

Hello, I don't come on here too often but on the 'Board Index' the 'Inclusive Section' for disabled cyclists seems to have disappeared! Where did it go to....and why??

Pick your own cycle cover.

Hello, Yes, I know this subject has appeared before but I have got sick of looking at the web for cycle insurance! Does anybody out there know of a cycle insurance company that lets the buyer pick his/her/its own insurance cover that the cyclists WANTS?! Currently I am in ETA that has lots of insura...

Losing my post/reply

Below is a topic from a Doctor about cold feet. I saw this topic when there no answers to it. As I get cold feet (and hands) thanks to taking Beta Blockers I took the trouble to give the Doc a reply! When I clicked...'SUBMIT' a quick one liner popped up saying someone else had replied as well.....(S...

Re: Tips for the 'un-normal' cyclist!

Uuummm, Geoff, Regarding a Mark 2 item. The basic gizmo wirh a larger square of wood screwed to the Willow trunk inside the drain pipe could take a castor with a much larger diameter wheel. It depends if Amazon stock that size of castor??!

Re: Tips for the 'un-normal' cyclist!

Eeeerrrrr, welcome back Geoff, There is a YouTube clip of something like I have knocked up but the trouble is tapping in the right description to recieve the clip from YouTube! The castor on the end of my gizmo is 40mm wide. I have various items added to my Dahon to help me with my problems. I was t...

Re: New cycling club for S Birmingham, Worcestershire & Warw

Hello Rob, Sorry I made the mistake of calling the new club a 'local sction'...a regretful choice of words. I am no longer a member of the CTC as I left after the charity debate result and also a long term promise to myself that when the disabled subscription arose above £25 it was time to leave...s...
