Re: Tips for the 'un-normal' cyclist!

Hello Un-Normal Cyclists, As my Dahon is built far away and being designed by people with imagination there are some very good extras one can buy for your cycle. There is one item that a lot of people want but cannot get.....its called a 'landing gear'...This item is a shaft that bolts to a special ...

Re: Hip protection for road riding?

Hello, Sorry to hear of your fall on to your hip. I dont know what clothing you could wear but may I suggest you start amd keep riding when you are able. Apart from being a life long cyclist I am also a life long motorcyclist and have been brought off my motorcycle by a car in 1975. I flew through t...

Re: Tips for the 'un-normal' cyclist!

Hello Disabled Cyclists, Your still "Un-Normal" but never mind, its only words! My Dahon folding cycle is a very interesting cycle, far, far more interesting than the normal cycles I have owned in the past. Recently I purchased the special tyre pump that is fitted inside the seat tube. My ...

Re: A Functional Alternative to the Saddle.

I own a Hobson Easyseat 11 and for some time. Its comfortable provided you fit it to the cycle with a slight slope so the saddle edges don't dig into the back of your thighs. I also have a VERY wide saddle with a air bag under a home-made saddle cover. This works great. Next I am to try replacing th...

Re: Patching rubber solution - Out-Of-Date !!!???

Thank you all for taking the trouble to give a answer about this problem. '531colin'....I did exactly what you described and also let the solution dry off completely i.e. touch dry with a clean finger! Brucey, I did the prep. work with the sandpaper and finished off with the chalk on the solution......

Patching rubber solution - Out-Of-Date !!!???

Hello, I was recently trying to fix a puncture on a pram tyre for my daughter. I must admit my puncture repair kit may be old as I have, Raleigh.. 'Dutch Perfect'/ No puncture' tyres on my Dahon and they do as the label say's! For some reason my patches kept raising and letting air out! I have never...

Re: Oh, what a suprise!

Hello Brucey, When I propel my folded Dahon along on say a station platform I hold the bike by its saddle and as the bike is just rolling along in a decent manner that is all that is needed. No need to grimly try to hold the bike up trying to stop it falling over...

Oh, what a suprise!

Hello Folders, I purchased my Dahon Vitesse 8 speed folding cycle in 2013 basically for the new 'Brompton copy' luggage bracket on the head tube, as I already owned the old style Brompton 'Touring Bag'. This bracket was not on my old Dahon D7 hence the new purchase...(my wife now has the D7!) Today ...

Re: Winter cycling boots

I am not being funny but has anybody tried wellies at all? I have used them in the past and also hiking boots. Wellies also have that step underneath to rest against the pedal side. I suppose it depends what sort of cyclist you are and how much you want to spend.....

Re: A Functional Alternative to the Saddle.

I own a Hobson saddle and its not bad at all. But, I also invented a air saddle as I have problems in my hips from past motorcycle accidents. My invention is dirt cheap to make and is most effective as far as I am concerned. Amazing what you can knock up if you put your mind to it!

Re: Tips for the 'un-normal' cyclist!

Hello U.N. Cyclists, Its quite a bit of luck we U.N. cyclists live in these times. A deaf charity I sometime deal with mentioned a thingy called a....Boogie Board. This item is a plastic square around 9 inches by 7 inches wide and you use it as a writing pad. The battery is non replaceable but comes...

Re: Cycle Parking - Longbridge, Birmingham

Hello Richard, if you ever pedal along the footpath from the so called Longbridge Town centre to Lickey Road you should take care as the is a lower level path branching off these paths with no ballustrade! It would be very easy to ride off the edge of the upper path as the slabbing merges from cycle...

Re: Tips for the 'un-normal' cyclist!

Hello Un-Normal Cyclists, Bit of a gap here since my last message. I have now been informed that there is only one more N.H.S. stronger hearing aid available for me and that's it!...oh dear...The only person I can understand properly is my wife, not my daughters, not my grandchildren, not nobody! Re: Is this the end of Kindle?

Kindles are the best thing invented! If your reading a library book which is part of a series and you just so happen to read the first of the series then you will no doubt find that the second book in the series is always out borrowed by someone else. I found this out when reading the sea stories by...
