Re: Any good tent bargains around?
Vango Banshee 200 or 300 should fit the bill, reasonably priced, lightweight and good for a couple of seasons at least.

Re: Fear of touring
Hi,
If you get chance have a read of this book - Cycling Back to Happiness by Bernie Friend (Pen Press). Bernie cycled most of the North Sea Cycle Route in spite of being terrified of leaving the UK. I found it reassuring and entertaining.

Handlebar bag for Ridgeback Panorama
Can anyone recommend a handlebar bag for the Ridgeback Panorama which will not foul the brakes cables?

Re: New bike!
Thanks for the replies, my wife ( a lot younger than me ) is also keen to tour so it looks good for the future, I have located the CTC Club for my area (Lancaster), a bit more practice and I will get in touch.

New bike!
Hi,
Not long been a member here, I was reintroduced to cycling this year in France, the bug has bit! Just took delivery of a Ridgeback Panorama and had a little run of 10 miles to try it out, fantastic, mind you it's the first new bike I have ever owned ( now 62 years old). Planning to tour the Loire Valley next year, followed by LeJoG in 2011, ie before I am 65. Just feel a bit miffed over what I have been missing all these years.
