Re: Lane hogging?

On the subject of tailgating by lorries - possibly a reason for some car drivers to prefer the second lane that's it. imagine you're inbetween two 40t lorries. the one in front stops, whilst the driver of the one behind is pouring a coffee from his flask, texting or whatever. what happens to your c...

Re: Newbie Help - Assemble Bike from Box?

if it includes tweaking spoke tensions, £40 is a very good price. i imagine there's adjustments to make to the gears and the brakes. and making sure the bars, stem, pedals, cranks are all at the correct torque. the damage that could occur to both you and.or the bike from not being set up correctly a...

here's the full range in that size. http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/tyres-27-%28630%29-dept203_pg1/ i've got continental tour rides. they're good, if you want well made and stout. never tried them myself, but panracers are well regarded amongst others on this forum as being easy rollers i've also got som...

Re: I've Just Discovered Radio 4 Extra!

I can remember some of my early transistor radios, most of them played for a couple of hours tops! without being rude, that might be to do with olden day's batteries rather than the radios. Most DAB radios have fairly decent speakers and amplifiers you're quite right, my pureDAB would happily do fo...

Re: Is 26" on its way out?

Its entry for 37-406 is wrong wrong in what way? It is one of several tyre sizes that are also (sometimes, mostly wrongly perhaps) also referred to as 20 x 1 3/8", isn't it? i reckon 20 x 1 3/8" is 451 ertro, a totally different 20" to BMX 20"(406) i reckon sheldon's rule of not...

Re: Is 26" on its way out?

But what about fact that these huge stupid looking wheels ..... i think that says it all - it's all about opinion. whether the person buying it likes the look of it. as mr viking says earlier, 559mm 26" tyres look silly to some people, especially under a tall person's body and cycle frame. per...

Re: Saltaire Orange Chopper

Schwinn imported something similar about 7 or 8 years ago that was a cheap toy for children made in china. the OP shows something made once by a craftsman/engineer at home. if someone's got enough screws loose and an element of mechanical ability, then anything's possible.* well done to the builder...
