Re: one man tent
Thanks for the advice, perhaps I will look into a 2 man tent, any advice greatly appreciated but do not want to spend a fortune as it will only get used for a CTC and Lejog trip.

Hi, I am thinking of doing a Coast to Coast over the Easter break in prep for a LEJOG. I live in Merseyside and wondered if anyone living near is looking to do the same thing?

Re: Mirage STI's
Thanks Mick, could you advise on Mechs please as I only have an 8 speed cog, will it work Shimano mechs and I guess it would be double rather than triple? can I tell by the left clicks?

Re: Mirage STI's
Hi Mick,
Just checked the ergos and they are 9 speed and the only writing is on the brake levers, which has Mirage on both brake levers and 9 speed written on white on just one of them, the only other details are on the collars that fit on the bars and I presume these are for the bar sizes.
Cheers John.

Mirage STI's
Thinking of changing from downtube levers to Campage Mirage STI.s or whatever they are called on my audax bike as I picked up a set really cheap from a carboot..... Anyone have experience with these as to reliablity and performance. These are the black ones made out of some sort of plastic/carbon material.

Thanks Pete, I have purchased some of these already, they are a different shape, the older ones are much broader.

Dawes cantiver brakes
I need some advice about my Dawes cantilever brakes. I need to replace the straddle wire but cannot seem to find one with the right fitting on the end, the only ones I can get have a much smaller shaped bit on the end. I have also read that these straddle wires were inclined to break and cause accidents so a different type are now used. Does anybody have a Galaxy with these brakes and replaced them with the newer design straddle wire as there are various size available.
