Re: CTC Affiliated continental ride - insurance questions
It needs some care because if the affiliated group is an unincorporated body potentially the officers of the group could be personally liable for and damages arising from legal action against the group for negligence. Therefore it would be wise that Cycling UK guidelines on group rides are followed,...

Re: SRam shifters for drop bars, hydraulic 9 spd
Does the frame have the right "reach" to give a comfortable position when fitted with drop handlebars and appropriate length stem?
Road bikes normally have shorter top tube than mountain bikes.

Re: Another GPS question!!
The USB port on my Garmin stopped charging whilst I was on tour across Germany in June. But I found that if i pushed away from the body that it made contact and chanrged. So then I found if I inserted a wedge between the body and the plug it charged. Then I taped a small bit of plastic ( I had the s...

Re: Off center pannier rack mounting (disc brakes)
Did you have to spread it to fit the bike? it was so many years ago that I can not remember. One of forum members with more expert engineering knowledge can probably advise on how much it is safe to spray the legs on an aluminum tubular rack. But I suspect if you do it once only and with care to ma...

Re: Off center pannier rack mounting (disc brakes)
I have had this rack on my commuting bike for years and it has been fine in the supplied configuration.
I would just use it as it is.

Re: Removing the core from Schwalbe Pro One
That you can not remove the core is an indication that it is fitted with inner tubes rather than with valves and sealant.
Would not expect that the inner tubes have sealant installed.

Re: Upgrade to rear mech on 1992 Raleigh Dynatech
May be a Shimano Claris RD-R2000 8 Speed Rear Derailleur - Silver - SS / Short Cage or SG /Long cage would be a good match. As the other posters have said it will work fine with a 7 speed chain and cassette - and will work with your shift leavers the same as a 7 speed one.

Re: How to get identical Suntour forks for Cube E-bike ?
This page http://www.srsuntour-cycling.com/contact/sr-suntour-europe/ has option to look up product from serial number. However you will probably find that their UK distributors do not import the full range. (They do not list the variant on their B2B web sites) GREYVILLE ENTERPRISES 20 Europa way br...

Re: Rotor 1x13 hydraulic groupset
I saw the stuff about the rotor 1*13 on SingleTrack.....am I just not paying attention or have they skipped 1*12? The mech has a bolt allowing switch between 12 and 13. One good thing is that mountain and road components are interchangeable so could combine road drop bar lever and mountain bike cas...

Re: Bikes on French Trains
This could be done last year provided one used the French version of the SNCF web site. Hence I am now get the chance to test my French reading SNCF marketing email e mails in French from using the French site to book bike + Seat last summer.

May be if you can dissemble the bikes to fit on a pallet you can send a freight in advance - but not cheap - https://www.p4d.co.uk/pallet-delivery

Re: ADVICE ON TANDEM TYRES PLEASE
Question is can I use 700x28C section tyres for a faster ride or should I use 700x32C ?
A 28c tyre will not necessarily give you a faster ride.
Collective wisdom on this has changed in recent years. Wider and lower pressure can be faster on a real world road surface.

If you use the French Language version of the SNCF website you have option to see which trains can take bicycles and book bicycle places.

Re: Converting from Dropbars to Straight - Worth it?
The Ebay page says "For V-Brake" so they will pull the wrong amount of cable for the dual caliper brakes on your road bike.
