Re: Inexpensive gear-storage options near London?

I'm on there, tho' I haven't ever used them (I tried once, in Northumberland, but we missed each other). I didn't even think of trying them, as "can I assemble my bike and leave my gear at your house" seemed a bit much to ask. You think people'd be open to that? I did that when I went to ...

Re: Crask Inn

Stopped at the Crask Inn the other week on the way back from Durnesss. New innkeepers from the Chruch had been in for 8 weeks and had got them selves sorted. Very welcoming - lots of other cyclist were there on their way to and from JoG, the fire was lit :-) Everyone (including myself) was having fr...

Re: Locking front skewer (thru axle)... help!

See this page

https://robertaxleproject.com/thru-axles-can-lock-hexlox/

You replace your thru axle with a hex bolt rather than an handle, you then place a ant theft insert in the hex bolt hole.

Re: INTERNAL BOTTOM BRACKET

This BB design is exclusive to Truativ so you do not have an alternative.

However they are cheap.

To maintain it's life avoid washing with a power washer and /or getting anything like Mucoff cleaner around the seals.

Re: Which Panniers Should I Buy?

found that more than a week and the luggage is pretty much the same however long you go for. Definitely that is true. Lots of different styles of touring. If you have the budget lots of very light weight camping gear is now available. But if you are starting out lot to be said for more budget stuff...

Re: Which Panniers Should I Buy?

For camp touring, 60 l is a little tight I have now got my luggage when camping down to just the rear panniers (with nothing on the rack top, and no front panniers) when in UK or Europe. But still used front panniers when i wen to back country Idaho USA and needed to carry multiple days of food and...

Re: Which Panniers Should I Buy?

All those brands are good in different ways. Expect you will find users of all these makes who have been happy with them. I have Ortlieb roller classic panniers, but have chosen a Altura bar bag. Roller Classics are durable, but the mounting clips do wear under abuse - heavy loads - riding into thin...

Re: Schwalbe Hurricane VS Smart Sam VS Marathon CROSS? Which?

I have Smart Sams on my Giant Revolt in 35mm size and in 2.1 inch size on my Slasa Fago Fargo and think they are very good for the money.

Roll nicely on the road and give reasonable grip off road. Not too heavy.

Un bolt track for lower fitting and bolt it on the other way up so arch is pointing the other way.

Re: Ortlieb front roller panniers

Modify panniers by moving track for lower hook down. But you will need to seal the 'old' holes for the mounting bolts.
