The park tool page seems to give the same FR-1.3 tool for Shimano and Sunrace unless sunrace sometimes use the Falcon tool such as Park FR-7?

Re: Shimano freewheel removal tool slips in sunrace 6sp freewheel?
Thanks.
The Parktool website gives the shimano compatible cassette tool as 23.4mm diameter against 23mm diameterfor the freewheel tool :
Would a 23mm tool sometimes work in 23.4mm?
Is it possible sunrace thought Freewheels are less popular on so make them use the same removal tool as cassettes...?
EDIT ignore ,may have misunderstood.

Shimano freewheel removal tool slips in sunrace 6sp freewheel?
My latest (now worn) screwon Freewheel is a sunrace 6sp as much cheaper than my previous modern Shimanos, but when I went to remove it with my trusty Shimano-style splined tool, it fits but just slips under load....
1) do sunrace use a subtly different tool?
2) do removal tools wear?
3) poor tolerance in one of the items?

Re: SLR, Super SLR, New Super SLR, SLR EV, etc.
It just makes it seem odder that, eg, tektro, don't make similar long reach symmetrical dp brakes, when they do make several long reach versions of asymmetrical dp brakes.
It seems for 2023 Tektro have a direct mount short arm symmetrical dp (not on their own website yet), so perhaps there is some hope

Re: SLR, Super SLR, New Super SLR, SLR EV, etc.
I would have thought the symmetric dp/EV style would offer more braking benefit on long reach brakes (cf short reach) by shortening the distance between pivot and brake pad on the one side compared to more common asymmetric dp brakes?

Re: SLR, Super SLR, New Super SLR, SLR EV, etc.
It still seems strange no? other manufacturer makes brakes in similar dual symmetric pivot style to the Shimano SLR-EV:
I presume there are no patent problems given the original syncron dp brakes had symmetrical styles too?

Re: SLR, Super SLR, New Super SLR, SLR EV, etc.
Does any other manufacturer make a proper long reach (ie for brompton front) dual symmetric pivot brake caliper (similar to Shimano SLR-EV style )? I presume there are no patent problems given original syncron dp brakes had symmetrical arms.
I just really like the symmetrical pad movement.....

Re: Cycle Travel Question
The angularness of some bends ok max zoom (like my removed Osmand app) gave me the clue just before I read your answer.Richard Fairhurst wrote: ↑2 Oct 2023, 8:48pm It's a different mapping technology. Is the download function a stub ...
Thanks, I got it to work.....It's fully working. ....
Thanks for all the maps

Re: Midge mesh for Saunders Space Packer
Speaking of A-frames, I have decided the Spacepacker's offspring such as Msr Hubba style jointed tripod hoops etc are too complicated compared to a Spacepacker plus single hoop.I tbink I'd rather have a simple 2 hoop fly first dome with same vestibule space*, but no one seems to make them (domes generally eem to have small vestibules)
EDIT * something like this but not necessarily with the diagonal inner https://www.trek-lite.com/index.php?t ... t-246273
So am looking at a DD hammocks Aframe tent with side entry...

Re: Cycle Travel Question
Hello
I have recently downloaded the Android app (congratulations
).
I have noticed the cycle travel app mapping has slightly different style from web (and more zooming in seems needed for detail (eg shop names?): is this to do with speed?
Is tbe download function a stub or should it download offline maps (I don"t get a progress bar)?
I look forward to offline maps. Could there be an option of combining downloading areas with Alpinequests method of storing of downloaded tiles on the fly as one explores map areas online?
The C Reid Article was very interesting.
Thanks for all the mapping
