Re: Cheap road tyres suggestion please

+1 on both the zaffiro and rubinos
I have ran rubions for a while and switched to zaffiros as they came on the wheels on a new bike which switched out to use on my commuter and TBH i cant tell any difference .

Re: Peed off.

Very. Just been volunteering at the Burton Beer festival and left my bike locked up outside and some ******* has gone through my panniers and nicked my tool kit. This is particularly annoying because they were fairly specific cycling tools like a chain splitter and tyre levers etc which are almost ...

Re: advice needed - upgrading to my first carbon road bike

I would agree in general although assuming the OP is buying through C2W and is buying from halfords , like me you are limited by choice and although they can get other brands in you end up paying full rrp so i know you can get better bikes for the price but you will not get them on the scheme . I go...

Re: advice needed - upgrading to my first carbon road bike

'Commute' can mean many different things to different people and their requirements will end up very different. ie: one mans commute means carrying a pair of panniers every day with a laptop and full office clothes, lunch, shoes and he will do it 5 days a week in rain, hail or sunshine and the bike...

Re: Shorts bobbling on inner thighs , shorts or bike fit problem ?

Never used to happen, same saddle and saddle height/setback within 5 mm.
I think the saddle bag is the likely suspect

Re: Shorts bobbling on inner thighs , shorts or bike fit problem ?

I will check , i did change saddle bags last year .
So seat height would not affect it ? it would only be a few mm out height wise if i have suddenly shrunk

Re: Ten Miles a day - 2018

First, I was ill. Second, I was well but the weather was bitterly cold. Third, we had snow and ice plus bitterly cold. Fourth, it's chucking it down with rain and will be for much of the day. This cycling lark is no fun at all. Today, Monday, is where I could cycle for a decent ride. Tomorrow...

Re: Ten Miles a day - 2018

My target is just to get back to being able to do club rides without my arm hurting , 6 months of physio and it still is not 100 % . I think sportives etc are out as my fitness is down the pan and about half a stone overweight , commuting is 19 miles a day but weather like we are having and night sh...

Re: Weather Forecast

Only about -5 or 6 overnight with wind chill taking lower.
Glad i took the car to work as the thought of riding home at 5.30 am on a country lane did not fill me with the joys of spring .
