Monte Carlo bike hire

Does anyone know if it is possible to hire a bike in Monte Carlo at a realistic price? (I'm not hopeful as I have never seen anything else on sale there at a realistic price - but I have to go to a conference and it would be handy.)

Wall hanger - any nice ones?

I would like to hang a bike indoors but would like an attractive and/or discreet hanger. So the whole thing looks pretty. Any ideas welcome.

Re: Breaking in a Brooks

I gave up on mine. I know people swear by them. That's why a I wanted one. I thought maybe it is because I only weigh 9st. But I couldn't make a dent in it. Sold it looking like new.

Re: Mapping for Garmin

Thanks for that tip. I will try it. Whereabouts on the device does the file turn up? (I need to retrieve it from my son, an oceanographer, who is used to survey software etc. I'm hoping he can figure it out for me... )

Re: Mapping for Garmin

My big problem with the Etrex 20 has been downloading a gpx file to it. Say I get a route from cyclestreets or wherever, save it as a gpx file to my p.c. in theory I should be able to send it to my unit. But I have never achieved it. Otherwise, it is a great bit of kit and tough. Mine bounced off th...

Re: Handlebar height versus age?

Depends if the question is about riding on the drops - or on the tops of the drops, say the hoods. I find as I get older I simply bend my arms more to get in a crouch, say in a headwind or chasing down the gang...

Re: recommend me good tyre levers

I like the old fashioned steel ones for getting a tyre off. But I carry a Crank speed lever for putting 'em back on again when they're a tight fit.

Fixed for the first time

I've been riding my single speed happily on the freewheel for a while and I'm tempted to start riding fixed. I know it isn't as easy as it looks. Does anyone have any advice about how to make the transition safely? I ride with spds and, apart from riding fixed, I'm an experienced rider. But being ne...
