Have a look at Madison D'Arcs I've used them for years, cheap and do the job.

Re: GCN Plus
Sorry to be late here, I read the forums most days but not this particular one very often.
I have been using the Eurosport app (Android) on Samsung tablets and a Sony phone for several years with Chromecast. I started with the 1st generation Chromecast which worked for a while but then became bothersome with continual buffering problems, moving to the 2nd generation, that was better but this year that had buffering issues too. I had the same problems casting from my desktop computer via Chrome browser.
Like you I no problems at all with YouTube, BBC iplayer, All4 etc just the Eurosport app for the cycling.
A couple of weeks ago I bought the latest "Chromecast Ultra with Google TV" £59.99 from Argos. I didn't want the TV bit, but it seems that is the only way to a get the Chromecast Ultra now, at least new.
I hate to tempt fate but it's working brilliantly, no buffering at all and the remote which I thought I wouldn't use I actually find very useful. It looks cheap but it works really well. It allows you to rewind right to the start of the programme so you can join at any time and pause easily for phone, doorbell etc.
I've never had the GCN app but I presume it's from the the same developers with the same strengths and foibles.

Re: Recommendations for a bike shed
Take a look at Asgard bike sheds. I bought one last year for my second bike plus lawnmower and garden tools and would recommend them. Not particularly cheap but I've had cheap sheds and not anymore thanks. Delivery to Cornwall done efficiently too by their own lorry.

Re: Henry?
Mick, another vote for a Henry. When I bought mine for garage and diy use I went for the Numatic NRV200 version as it has a longer cable and wider undercarriage so less prone to toppling over. All attachments and bags are standard Henry.

Re: Unknown symbol next to power bar display
You mean the bars which rise and fall on the r/h side? It's the amount of help the motor is giving. I try to keep it low but attacking a hill in a higher assistance mode will see it max out.

Re: Shoes to wear with flats?
I also had a pair of cheap Lidl shoes which I used on flat pedals. When they wore out a bought some Lonsdale Fulham Snr. Only £24.99 at the time from Sportsdirect. They are white and I've been back and got a black pair for winter riding.
Whilst the soles are probably not as stiff as proper cycling shoes they seem ok to me and grip the pedals well.

"13 Minutes To The Moon" - Podcast.
I've been listening to the above podcast, I reckon it's really worth checking out. It's was originally on the BBC World Service apparently, but a search online will find it easily enough. It's all about the Apollo missions to land on the moon fifty years ago told by the people who took part.
Typical BBC to hide it away whilst everytime you turn on the telly you are bombarded by promotion of depressing old Eastenders or ads for some "Celebrity Dancing Bakers" tripe.
Enjoy, Steve.

Re: Gout on a bike
I am 62 years old, 1.8m tall and 80kg so no lightweight but not over heavy either, rarely drink alcohol and vegetarian for about 30 years so nothing like the stereotypical gout sufferer and used to laugh at my overweight, meat scoffing, wine drinking ex workmate how suffered badly with gout. Last October I had a day out cycling with my mate and probably forgot about hydration and although only October I remember my feet feeling cold. Next morning woke up with gout in my big toe, never a hint of it before. Saw my GP who laughed and said "Ha! welcome to the club" he is a fellow sufferer. I tried keeping my feet warm, bed socks at night etc and keeping well hydrated which helped but had another attack in my other big toe two weeks later.
My GP arranged blood tests which showed a figure of 46 (sorry can't remember the units used) The normal range he reckoned is 23 to 43. Suggested I go straight onto Allopurinol as he says people sometimes leave it too long and the joints can get permanently damaged.
I am now taking 100mg of Allopurinol daily and having no gout or side effects. I've not changed my diet as that was fairly good anyway but I am careful to keep well hydrated. My last blood test showed 40 so not low but back in normal range.

Re: Second car - electric?
Mick, sounds like a Peugeot Ion or Citroen C-Zero would fit the bill. They are both rebadged Mitsubishi I-Mievs. My wfe has an Ion and we use it for all the local trips, and my Yaris Hybrid stays in the garage until we need to do a longer run.
They are getting old now but I think new ones were on sale until fairly recently. May not impress the "flash harry" brigade but excellent little cars in town and around the Cornish lanes.

Re: Eurosport
I've had Eurosport for a few years now. Whilst a chromecast should be good, it's excellent with YouTube for example, the Android Eurosport app is very buggy.
Lots of people are complaining that the playback keeps skipping a few seconds back and forth when used with Chromecast. This is my experience too. A reliable way was to use my desktop to connect to the TV, I have them connected via ethernet. This meant having the computer on for a long time during the Grand Tours which I didn't like.
To get around this I bought a cheap "Alba" Android tablet at Argos which has a mini HDMI output. Only a few tablets have HDMI, usually the cheaper ones for some reason. A cheap mini HDMI cable from ebay connects it.

We have found these very good in the wife's car which lives outside. Had them a couple of years and they dry out easily on the storage heater and back in the car for a couple of months or so, should last ages between dry outs for your needs.

Re: Industrial heritage sites that you find interesting!
One which I ride ride past often is the old Wenford Clay Dries at the top end of the Camel Trail from Bodmin. It was closed by Imerys (formerly English China Clays) several years ago. The Camel Trail goes right through the old loading bays where the rail trucks were loaded to take the clay down to port along the railway line where the Camel Trail now runs. Later replaced by lorry transport. I often wonder if many people know what the old buildings are.
I am now retired but worked in the Imerys ceramic labs most of my life and tested many samples from Wenford.

Re: Hill starts
Never had any problem, power wise at least, to restart on hills. The only problem I have had especially riding some rough tracks around Porlock last week is keeping the front wheel down! That's on a KTM with Bosch CX Performance centre drive.
When looking for my first e-bike a couple of years ago I was advised that the hub drive set up is not very good for steep hills, good advice maybe?
Chris, Cornwall eh? If you are ever in Bodmin area you are welcome to try it.

Re: Wanted. Small car.
Glad you like it Mick. Interesting what you say about the performance, although nothing great on paper, overtaking and pulling away from stops is always easy, probably because you are never in the wrong gear I suppose.
Mine turned 16,000 miles today on a trip down to St Ives. If Toyota only got more people to try them instead of listening to the "Clarkson brigade" I think they would be even more popular.
Happy motoring, Steve.
