Re: My 16 Day LeJog May / June 2017

Its a great question, and I'll never know the answer. I'd like to think that I would have completed it, since I was extremely determined, and only had 2 days left when I needed to take a break.

Re: My 16 Day LeJog May / June 2017

I had no idea. All I knew was that I had no appetite. I got tired later in the day after Monmouth. The first time I felt ill was on Day 9 when I struggled badly on a very long flat stretch. After that it was generally hard work most of the time, which I put down to not eating very well, but I just f...

My 16 Day LeJog May / June 2017

I’ve been meaning to sit down and write this blog for months. I spent hours and hours digesting information on this forum over a period of over 6 years before I finally attempted LeJog. I gained some really valuable information, and hope that I am “putting something back”, and that someone will find...

Re: Carlisle to Abington - following a motorway?

I cycled this route on a solo ride last summer. After 9 previous days in the saddle I found the motorway an interesting distraction, but never intrusive. The surface was rough in part, but it was an easy route to follow, and the traffic was light. I would use this route again.

GPX Upload

Hi, I want to post some routes in the forum which I have stored in Strava as GPX routes. Is there an easy way to copy them into a forum post?
Thanks!

Re: Suitable Mudguards for a 2017 Cannondale Synapse

PS - I had a rear wheel puncture and the SKS did not cause any problems with a roadside repair.

Re: Suitable Mudguards for a 2017 Cannondale Synapse

I fitted SKS Raceblades to a 2017 Ultegra Disc model. This was a very easy job and they fit well. The only (slight) issue is that they are not full length so the bike gets a bit dirty around the BB, but I stay clean. I don't think there are any realistic alternatives and would recommend these.

Re: Fitness vs Road...the unanswered question

I bought a Synapse to replace a Sirrus a couple of years ago. I did so because I was fed up of being overtaken by guys on road bikes. I still get overtaken (!) but the Synapse is quicker and more comfortable. I spent months finding the right bike and hesitated a great deal as I have back problems an...

Re: Wide toe, narrow heel MTB shoes

I've had a couple of pairs of Specialized which are great for wide feet. Latest ones have Vibram soles.

Re: September LeJog

I followed Mick F's route to Okehampton a few weeks ago and it was excellent. Hills weren't too bad although I recall it was steep coming out of Camelford. Just make sure not to get lost in Launceston- take a left at the Spar shop at bottom of hill, then take a right a couple of hundred yards up the...
