Re: widest range of cycle clothing in greater manchester

I cycled past a huge Evans store in Preston yesterday but didn't go in cos it was closed. Their online range is vast compared to stores in Leeds and Manchester so this one might have a good clothing range.

Re: York cycle rally

I agree the route via Wighill etc to A64 is probably the best one, as the roads are fairly quiet. You can however continue on the shared use path straight into the Knavesmire without crossing the A64 - follow the shared use path adjacent to A64 as it turns into the A1036; at the Askham Bar Park and ...

Re: Project to Widen Gear Range for Shimano 105 11 speed

I had 105 10 speed with 50/34 and 12/28. The front derailleur was changed to 11 speed model (emergency repair following accident, 10 speed model not in stock). I then wanted lower gears for hills so recently had rear cassette changed to Shimano 11/36 (not sure which version). A long (Deore) rear mec...

Re: Cannondale Synapse

Thanks for all of your responses, and thanks Paul for the very detailed advice. I now have the confidence I need that the bike will be ok and will probably invest in some new wheels. I will consider the gearing after I've done some loaded test runs. Thanks again.

Re: Cycling glasses

I've worn Oakley prescription cycling specs purchased from local optician for the past 18 months. They are photochromic so suitable for all weather / light conditions. The cost is similar to normal specs but they do a great job, and only mist up when I stop pedaling.

Re: Cannondale Synapse

Thanks for the replies. I will use YHA, B&Bs and similar, so no camping gear but will have a couple of full panniers and maybe a bar or saddle bag. I'm reasonably fit, so more concerned about the bike than my legs, but like the idea of lower gears. Any thoughts on the ability of the wheels to ca...

Cannondale Synapse

I'm planning a 2 to 3 week solo LeJog for next May using a 20 speed Synapse. I will stick to roads. Previous tours were just 2-3 days on MTB or hybrid. Synapse spec can be found here: https://www.evanscycles.com/cannondale-synapse-disc-5-105-2014-road-bike-EV199152 Will this bike be suitable, or are...
