Re: 2011 Two Daughters Tour (plus)

I did a route that went N/S through the east of Oldham, Lees Road then west of Stalybridge. I'm not entirely of the route as it was a diversion to try and regain time so was making the route up as I went. Obviously this is through the suburbs of Manchester but it was busy enough to be a massive reli...

Re: Dedicated to touring ??

You seem to be approaching this the opposite way round to most online shops. You talk of becoming a sort of online magazine for tourers and then maybe branching into a shop. If you look at most online shops they also have blogs which they developed after becoming predominately a shop. Making money o...

Re: Ortlieb Roller Panniers - Classic or Plus?

I have a full set of classics and I have to say with around 1200 miles done and a 17 day tour which only had 2 days that didn't rain, they are most definitely waterproof and outstandingly tough. I was run off the road into a hedge and ditch with them at about 25 miles an hour and while managing to s...

Re: Need help as per Cycle Tour in Norway?

Thanks for the information and help. Just wondering If anyone knows the prevailing wind I presume it is similar to Britain's SW. I had particularly bad experience of wind in Scotland by getting caught in severe head on winds on my first day, this destroyed my target of 75miles to 35 miles and I coul...

Re: Morocco - Spain cycling anyone?

My Sister's friends did a cycling trip from John 'o' Groats to Morocco. Will see if I can get you a link to their experiences. They were a bunch of Uni Rowers started out as five but only 2 finished (would of been three if the two superhumans were willing to slow down to a more normal 90-100 miles a...

Need help as per Cycle Tour in Norway?

Has anyone here done any amount of cycling in Norway? I am thinking of doing a tour of 1000-2000 miles. The information I can find is generally just avoid tunnels and main roads but I need advice as to maps, camping gear, temperature up north ect. Any help is appreciated. Experience in similarly nor...

He clipped me after deliberately scaring the hell out of me. Hopefully now he will give cyclists a little more space. People do things like that because they think they can get away with it.

Re: 4 x LEJOG'rs - 1 x Hit n Run - A449

Some Chav honked his horn at me at a junction and scared the hell out of me...I gave him the two fingered salute and he sped past me...clipped me with his mirror...he did this on a corner..on a steep hill...caught the bugger and smashed his wing mirror off.

Re: The A39, is it busy start of July?

Despite you being a Norwich city supporter I will still congratulate you. You did it the other way round and on reading your last entry I am glad I chose to end at Land's End, seemed like its not the most welcoming end to cycle to a desolate place with not much around. Hopefully I wont get lost on m...

Re: The A39, is it busy start of July?

http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=138278 day 14 this is route I am taking, and yes I know its hilly! I would like to stay to the coast but I can easily divert and catch up on my route as you suggested. So at least I wouldn't have to do any major replanning. I am in Bideford because ...

Re: LEJOG on a Raleigh Chopper

I think a 13/15 year old boy did it on a 36 inch wheel unicycle. His dad road on a normal bike with him carrying some stuff and his mum drove a motor home with the rest. Google it and you will find his website and the related news coverage.

Just Realised I'm on it from long before Bideford it just becomes a "Primary Route" (ie. Green) at Bideford on my Map.
